I have to go to Durham today, via Nottingham, Darley Dale, & Wombwell.
Warm Radio 4 up for me, it's going to be a long day.
The dreadful Radio 5 will be giving all-day coverage of Lady Thatcher's Funeral.

I hesitate to ask, but why is Radio 5 so dreadful?
Apart from the all day Thatcher funeral ofc.

Reason for alias: favourite horse, set up my tribecca account (paddy power) off the back of a big win & its the only name i could think of at the time.
Age: 29
Occupation: insurance sales - yawn
Location: LEEDS LEEDS LEEDS
Dream Job: Guest House/Cafe Proprietor based on my self sufficient small holding... this changes everyday - in fact more often than that
Person you would be reincarnated as: a working class version of Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall
Fave comfort food: Bangers & Mash in a giant yorkshire pudding
Imaginary super power: Bernard's Watch
Full of surprises.
If I'd been guessing I wouldn't have got any of your answers right.
WTF kind of super power is Bernard's Watch?
Bernard's Watch froze time, so same power as Out of this world or The Magic boomerang.

I should have added "imo".
1) Too formulaic.
2) Poor quality Presenters.
3) News Bulletins, advertised for every half hour, on the half hour, are invariably 3 or 4 minutes late. Not for good reason, because they just blather on despite the fact it the News is 2 minutes overdue. The BBC should set standards. A news Bulletin advertised for 11am should be at EXACTLY 11am. They do it deliberately, of course.
4) Naff jingles.
5) Some of their (otherwise most useful) Traffic Reports drive me nuts. They have one young lady (several now, as her poor comms skills are contagious it seems) who, whenever she reports of a traffic problem, adds the reason, & it is ALWAYS prefaced by "
it is all to do with
"
Delays on the M1 heading north at J21,
& it is all to do wi
th
M25 clockwise blocked at J16,
it is all to do with
What sort of language is that? She means
caused by
, or "
due to
" or any number of well-constructed phrases. This is the BBC, Goddamnit.
So........I just don't like it, I guess, & I'm probably being unfair.
Carry on. Think I have a monk on this morning, I'd best log off for a while. Overslept, see? Bad mood all morning is bound to ensue.

ghat "it is all to do with" thing reminds me of the girl or chap at the checkout, who, when I proffer a £20 note for something costing £15.01, asks "do you have the penny
at all
?"
At all
? What?
Advanced versions include....
I don't suppose
you have the penny

NO, I DON'T SUPPOSE I HAVE.
Best of the lot, there are two tills & one assistant, but he/she is busy doing something away from the till, so you stand by one of the tills.
They return, stand bahind the OTHER till, & say
"would you like to come along to this till

Eh?
I said to one, on a morning when I was unusually grumpy, (talking in the morning should be banned),
no, not particularly

She looked at me like I was mad.
Fair shout I suppose.

Reason for alias: I'm your daughter.
Age: If you cant remember, I'm not telling you.
Location: Look out of the window.
Dream job: However Dr Alice Roberts describes her job, that's it.
Reincarnated as: David Attenborough
Super power: Teleportation, through time as well as space but as an observer only, think being able to interact could get really messy.

I knew you had to be under-age when we first played together in those Walsall monthly £300 tourneys six or seven years ago.
I can remember being drawn on the same starting table as you and saying to the dealer as a joke "if that kid wins a pot off me ask him for ID before you pass him the chips".
You must have been crapping yourself.
Must be a case of mistaken identity Ralph, I've only been to Walsall once and that was for the GUKPT last year.
We did have the same starting table at my first couple of DTD Deepstacks though. That feels like an age ago!
Actually I'm one of very few (or so it seems) that didn't ever play for money under age. I signed up to a lot of sites under-age and played their freerolls but my first $50 deposit on Full Tilt was on my 18th birthday. Those were the days, grinding $10 SNGs and feeling like the king of the world making a few hundred quid a month, playing in the library because the internet at our student halls was terrible.
I remember sharing a table or two with you at DTD in those early deepstacks and you being a little surprised that I knew what badbeat was all about when you were sporting their logo.
I was sure that I knew you from Walsall though, you must have a double.
Tom will remember that young skinny blond kid who used to play the Walsall £300 monthly tourneys, a good player possibly from Manchester, looked about sixteen.

Piss off David, now you've wound me up a treat.
Nicky Campbell? Nicky Bloody Campbell?
Did you EVER hear a worse, more unprofessional, Radio Presenter?
You get 2 marks back for mentioning Danny Baker though. I feel better already.
Is this Tom's Diary thing, or mine? Apologies if it is Tom's place, thought it was mine. So unusual to see really good stuff here.

Reason for alias: Japanese term from sumo that means 'giant killing' (literally means gold star). If a lower-ranked rikishi (sumo wrestler) beats a champion, he gets a
kinboshi
. Every tournament he competes in after then he gets a stipend for that kinboshi.

Reason for alias: I thought I wanted anonymity at first, I didn't really plan to get involved in blonde, just signed up for the updates and got dragged in by the community.
Age: 21
Occupation: Student/Part time grinder
Location: Doncaster when not at University, Stockton on Tees when I am.
Dream Job: This is tough, I guess poker playing, it has the freedom I desire, but I can't see myself wanting to do it forever. Human rights lawyer is the final answer.
Person you would be reincarnated as: I'm not sure this is whose life you would like to have lived or what you would choose to change; Da Vinci.
Fave comfort food: Shepard's Pie.
Imaginary super power: Time travel fo sure.
Woah! When I was your age Donny, or Dodge City, as we used to call it, (Another story) was the place to be on a Saturday night.
I used to drive back there even if we were stopping miles away.
My usual mode of transport would be in a 4 cylinder 'coffee grinder' Bedford TK with an 8 track cassette and 6 bald tyres.
I would often be carrying 9 or more passengers in a cab designed for 3 people max. If you were to look in through the big front windscreen, it looked like a scene from 'Where's Wally'
My friends and I managed 7+ a driver in a Ford Ka once, 2 in the boot, 4 in the back and 2 in the front. Probably not the smartest thing ever looking back.
Donny is still a good night out, just a touch more trouble around nowadays I suspect. I've only ever had one incident and that didn't end badly despite having a lot of potential.

In Leicester Forest Services, on the M1 (splendid lamb shank, mashies, peas & gravy for £7.99), if I proffer a £50 note, sometimes even a £20, they hold it up to the light to see if it is genuine, or mark it with some sort of magic bloody pen. I had one of those rare grumpy moods one day, & when the lass gave me 2 x £20 notes in change, I held them up to the light, & I asked to borrow her magic pen, to see if they were kosher.
She looked at me as if I was some sort of mad old bloke, off his head. THEY can mis-trust me, but I can't mis-trust them?
Unbelievable.
Anyway, it is nearly Noon, the grumpy mood passes on the stroke of Noon, always.
Smashing day today, right?
