So how do they work? Do you position them like, halfway between the router and the dead spot?
Havent used one before but I imagine you place it as far from the router as the connectivity allows for.
I'm off to dig a hole.
I can keep pace with hole-digging equipment.
You could get your moles to help.
The moles and I have come to an understanding. I leave them alone and they do as they like.

Another thing you could do is if you can get a long piece of network cable you could put another wireless hotspot in the second place and have two wireless hotspots- so you could have ChezRed1 and ChezRed2 attached to the same broadband. Most stuff will switch to whatever is the nearest. You can get network cable that is outdoor rated.

The problem is that my isp router is located in the chalet, which means the signal doesn't reach the girls trailers, which means that everyone has to be in the same room to use the Internet, which less than ideal to say the least.
Solution? Move the router.
To help find the ideal place, I made two long extention cables, one for the power supply and one for the telephone cable. Then I moved the whole shebang around, looking for the sweet spot where everyone had a good signal.
Predictably, the best place was the most difficult to access.
On the chassis, under the chalet.
At least I won't have to worry about the flies getting to it.

Why are you doing stuff while lm away? Where are you getting a second opinion? The dog? That spider?
What happens if we have to reset the router? I ain't getting under there. You'll have to make Sadie do it.

Sadie wouldn't go near that spider for a brass pig.
Don't worry. I installed an indoor switch so that you can re-boot the router when I'm not around.
(For the uninitiated, re-boot = switching off and on.)

Redsgirl, I think you'll find the spider knows all about how to access the web.

How are things in Newquay?
Lovely, enjoying the weather, watched some gnarly dudes in the pro surfing tour finals, ate fish and chips, kids found the worlds biggest starfish and the world smallest fish in a rockpool,
christened them Patrick and Free Willy respectively and released them back into the sea, just normal seaside stuff!
Leonie drew a picture of you in the sand , I emailed it to you.
