Save Fib's gonads!
We don't want Five-ball Fib to become Free-ball Fib.
Just to go back to the subject of neutering, you're looking at the issue with human eyes and human thought processes.
Imagine you could never have sex ever again, wouldn't you be glad if the desire went away too?
Many Entire dogs spend their whole lives obsessing about sex but never getting any, and that's pretty horrible. (ask Vinny if you don't believe me)
Far kinder to take away the craving. He won't have any idea that anything is different, he'll just be calmer, less stressed and less distracted.
That's the beauty of having two dogs - they both get plenty
Yeah...they're constantly trying to do each other when they can't find some other poor soul to go after. I'm forever having to say, "Put it away Lads!"

Quite right too Vinni.
First it was persecuting moles who were wonderful neighbours, then it was destroying friendly wasps - which smacks of waspism - now castrate all dogs.
Where will it all end?

What have wasps ever done for us, I hear you not really ask.
Vespasian, Roman Emperor for ten years (69-79AD) in the Flavian Dynasty.
Started the work on the Flavian Amphitheatre, which you might recognise as something else:
Vespus being Latin for wasp.
On the downside, before he was Emperor, he was heavily involved in the invasion of Britain and was sent to lead the "reduction" of the South West, where he tore through everything from Hampshire to Cornwall.

I thought Vespus was a planet?
Actually, I lie. I now KNOW it is a planet. I googled "vespus" to check that Latin thing, & it told me it is a planet. A planet completely devoid of moles, wasps, &
entire
dogs.

You are right. Delightfully so. Uninhabited watery planets ftw.
The word wasp does come from vesp and the wasp is from the Vespidae family.

Tal reminds me of James Burke.
My older readers will know who that is, but for the rest of you, here's a snippet from his Wiki page.
James Burke (born 22 December 1936) is a British broadcaster, science historian, author, and television producer, who is known, among other things, for his documentary television series Connections (1978), and for its more philosophically oriented companion series, The Day the Universe Changed (1985), which is about the history of science and technology. The Washington Post called him "one of the most intriguing minds in the Western world".
He was engaged in the creation of an English–Italian dictionary, and the publication of an art encyclopedia. In 1966, Burke moved to London and joined the Science and Features Department of the BBC, where he was host and co-host of several programmes.
Burke established his reputation as a reporter on the BBC science series Tomorrow's World. He was BBC television's science anchorman and chief reporter for the Project Apollo missions, as the main presenter of the BBC's coverage of the first moon landing in 1969. In collaboration with Mick Jackson, he produced the ten-part documentary series Connections (1978)
Connections traced the historical interrelationships between invention and discovery; each episode chronicled a particular path of technological development.
Link if you want the full SP.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Burke_%28science_historian%29
Connections: Narrator James Burke explains the industrial Haber-Bosch Process for the production of ammonia, to make artificial fertilisers.
It was the connections programme in 1978 that first brought Burke to my attention. By that time we had a colour telly and a generator to run it. I used to watch it with my dad and we were spellbound for an hour every week.
Many of Tal's posts have that Sciencey / historical, educational feel about them and I enjoy them immensely.
More please Mr T.

I came to an agreement with the moles: They don't hurt me and I won't hurt them.
I offered the wasps the same deal but they weren't interested.
I think they're bent on world domination.

A life less ordinary. How I admire people like this.
RIP Mr Snell.

I have great respect and admiration for what he went through during the war. That said, I find myself feeling more admiration for his 'follow your dreams' approach after the war. He took 'whatever floats your boat' to a whole other level. Respect and RIP Mr Snell.
