Back on the theme of kitchen ware, everyone who worked outdoors, drives or is just semi senile should have one of these insulated mugs, that way, when you forget about your tea/coffee for half an hour, it's still hot when you remember. Mine holds about a mug and a half and it fits in a cup holder. (A real Godsend when you have to leave home at silly O'clock on a cold morning). | Click to see full-size image. |

Will I ever finish this job?
Now the hedge trimmer is playing up. It will start and run but it won't rev up.
I wouldn't mind but I bought it brand new. (Admittedly that was in 1997 but that's not the point).
Ah well, YouTube videos to the rescue.

So according to YouTube the most common cause of Stihl hedge trimmers staring, running but not revving is a blocked spark arrestor.
What?
Apparently a spark arrestor is a mesh inside the exhaust designed to prevent hot sparks escaping and causing a bushfire in dry places like Australia. (Although how a spark from my exhaust could reach Australia is beyond me).
It looks a daunting job, but cometh the hour, cometh the tiny sockets and spanners that I almost never use.
