It's Andie MaDowell you're thinking off, Mr Red.

When I was young, I used to go out
grinding with my granddad
, I have a load of stories about it, remind me to tell you some day.
Was it Tikay?
Tikay can't grind - he's either all in or all out second level!
The best grinders have one big rough stone, and one smooth oily one,
That'll be Mr Grumpy & Mr Cooey-Wooey then.....
Tom, please tell us more of those Gypsy tales, like the Grinding man - I think we used to call them "tinkers"? It was a beautiful piece of writing. It's going in the book - your Editor just said so. I hope you save these pieces on Word or something.

Puving your grai (slipping your horse into an unused field)
Tell us some more of these Gypsy expressions please Tom.
It reminded me of reading Watership Down, one of the few fiction books I've ever read. The Rabbits had their own little language for daily chores & habits.

The grass needs cutting again. I can't believe how fast it grows at this time of year. It's on a solar powered mission to take over the world.

Buy a goat mate .... then you can sit back and eat cake while the goat does the grass for you

And goat's milk makes richer cakes, no kidding.

Forget about the lawn...it'll still be there when you're done telling us more Gypsy grinder tales. And the lads are right...goat FTW.

Red if you have a soft spot for miss driver, have you seen the US tv series "the riches"where she and eddie izzard play american travellers who after a car crash take over the lives of a suburban couple. Not very flattering towards the US travellers, however it's well acted, entertaining and minnie is scantly dressed in many scenes.LOL
