I have been a shooter for 30 odd years and especially with old guns the gauges are handy to find out the choke,although after all this time a finger is almost as good.
 Working on my own cars for the same amount of time the nut splitters were essential to get nuts of some of the junk I  drove in my youth(most,if not all of the cars in your earlier photo)
