I played the £100 Freeze out at DTD last night. I was pretty card dead with the blinds at 200/400 with a running ante of 25 my stack was still only around the 5k mark, time to get busy.
With 6 limpers on my big blind, I look down to find Q4os. In a rare moment of creativity, I decide that this is the perfect opportunity for one of those "Squeeze play" thingies I keep hearing about. I push my 5k over the line.
I get a few suspicious looks, but one by one they begin to fold, as I know they must, all the way around to the button, who calls. The sb gets out of the way and the button guy flips QQ.
The dealer peels off runner runner runner runner clubs and ships the pot to da dawg.
Note to self. Must get funky more often.

Have you ever tried groping for trout Alex?
No equipment other than your hands, and you actually have to get into the river with the fish. You would love it

Tickling (as I know it) is not quite the same, it's done from the bank using a different technique.
Explanation to follow.

no lol. Iv tickled before (mainly chub though lol, just for fun- from the bank of course). Surely they just see you in the clear chalkstream water? Or do you have to do it in right conditions after heavy rainfall? Sounds fun though........if only we still had chalkstreams with enough water in to hold trout in my area......Damn you water abstraction companies and your "Strathmore Springs mineral waters imo".

Yes they see you, that's how it works.
As soon as you enter the water all the fish scarper into their hidey holes beneath the bank. You lie down (or stand up depending on depth) and grope along the the underside of the bank, reaching into all the crevices and amongst the tree roots etc. The fish will usually be in most difficult to reach places, and you will have to push your arm right in to the shoulder and probably put your head under.
It's a nerve jangling experience reaching into those holes, and I guarantee that even the toughest man will jump about and squeal like a girl the first time he touches a fish, even though he's expecting it. You just can't help it. You're feeling for trout, but all the time you're thinking "Eels, rats, pike" etc. Touching something that's alive down there is like touching electricity, it takes ages to get the knack of keeping your hand steady instead of jumping away.
It's the most fun fishing in the world though.
