Amid all the hustle and bustle of the strip, and especially slap bang in front of the Venetian, how in the world did these two manage to find a moment alone to share a kiss?

I had my first ever shoe-shine in Binions the other day. Floyd has been
shining shoes here for at least 150 years.
He told me he's used to do all the greats on a regular basis. Doyle,
Amarillo
Slim
, Puggy Pearson, Johnny moss etc. Mind you, He also told me that the King of England has asked him to go and be the official shoe-shiner in London Palace, but he's too busy to go...

Rubbish.
I recall Tikay telling me of his first shoe shine by the very same guy when he was just a mere teenager. Has to be at least another 50 yrs added.

ha ha I remember the shoeshine guy from the first time I was in LV - he used to ask me if I wanted a shine every time I walked by - I only realised later when I looked at my shoes that they REALLY NEEDED a polish.......

This is Leroy. he is the best bus driver in the world. Everyone on his bus had to cheer like mad when someone new got on, and boo when someone got off. We had to sing as we traveled or else he refused to drive, every passenger had a grin from ear to ear.
When we reached the final stop (Downtown) I shouted for three cheers for the driver, and every one joined in Hip Hip HOORAY!!

PS- Both Ralph and I got a warning in the Venetian yesterday. Me for speech play, and him for trying to steal back his blinds.
Go figure!

It's so reminiscent Tom to here you talk of down town with such passion. It is so like we used to be. Maybe we hit it at the wrong time last visit. We rode the deuce but it was taking over an hour to reach mid plus strip. We used to say to Darren's mom, " how can you not like DownTown".
Trying to Analise it, it was just pre WSOP commencement last time, maybe that made a difference to tourneys down there. Has the Plazza picked up?

Aah, a Vegas trip isn't complete without being warned about your speech play at The Venetian. Was it Kim that gave you the warning? She's given up warning me now.

The thing I found about the Deuce is that while the buses themselves are great, they were always packed and each stop took forever to pick up passengers.

Is she smiling with gratitude cos you've kindly informed her that she's got the front of her dress stuffed down her tights?

Now that is a class riposte. You are clearly your Dad's daughter, if you get my drift.

Jim McCShane (sp) asked me ages ago to say what if anything in Vegas was different to my expectations. well theres loads of stuff (Mostly size related) but one thing really stands out. W can't find a daily tourney with a decent structure except for the one in Binions.
We thought we had cracked it in the Venetian, 7500 chips, half hour clock, but what we didn't notice until Ralph went deep (Eventually going out in 12th) was that when the blinds get to 3000/6000, the antes go to 1000, which makes it a total crapshoot.
12th Level $500 $2,000-$4,000
13th Level $1,000 $3,000-$6,000
14th Level $1,000 $4,000-$8,000
15th Level $2,000 $6,000-$12,000
16th Level $3,000 $8,000-$16,000
17th Level $4,000 $10,000-$20,000
18th Level $5,000 $15,000-$30,000
19th Level $5,000 $20,000-$40,000
Ralph Played really well for over 7 hours to give himself a good chance of winning it, only for them to turn it into a lottery.
We've looked around the daily comps schedule, and we can't find anything except Binions that's halfway decent.
Unless of course, you know better.....

Looky here -
http://www.pokertournamentformula.com/las_vegas_poker_tournaments.htm
The value you probably want is Patience Factor - the higher it is the slower the structure.
