I found this Red, I think you'll like it.

What a great pic, I love it. That's what we would call a "Family" horse.

Chatting to my bird loving neighbour today, and now I know the names of all the birds I've been watching over the last week.

Only caught a glimpse of this one

Again these ones seem really rare

Loads of these little bad boys, personally one of my favourites!

My neighbour also said that he hasnt seen any sparrows around this year, is this a growing trend.  I was asking loads of questions but didnt ask why sparrow numbers are falling.  Any ideas?

Top one is a goldfinch. Not rare, but you need to where to look and how to spot them.

They band together in little flocks and fly in an up and down, wave type pattern rather than in a straight line. They can often be seen in fruit trees, or feeding on teasel or thistle heads.

Once you  know what a goldfinch sounds like, you will seem to see them everywhere. The call is a loud, high pitched "ti pit, ti Pit" sound, and the song is sweet and tinkling, like Japanese wind chimes.

It's a ramblers wet dream .... they can spend endless hours using the Stiles again and again and again.

I have no idea what it is. The ring on the centre post looks like it'd designed for tethering something.

The ring is just a  horseshoe theres also two horseshoes attached to the other side.

Bad photo's due to phone and being too lazy to get out of my van in the rain.

I noticed that the birds have a routine they follow almost every time they go into my neighbours tree.  They start in a huge tree that is in the park next to our house, move to a smaller tree in the opposite neighbours garden then into his garden to feed.  Its really interesting as my fav bird the long tail one does a slight different routine than the others.  Its fascinating to see, I've got a nice comfortable chair in our spare room so I can watch from the warm!

Just wish my camera could get some better snaps!

Noticing behaviour patterns is the real key to understanding wildlife and nature sov, it's also incredibly rewarding. If you have the ability to see these things your life will be greatly enriched.

I know a lot of the members will think this is sentimental rubbish, I can hear the sighs and see the eyeballs rolling as I type. Ah well, never mind.  Smiley
