Tom, I notice that Bob Ainsworth has become the first moustachioed Labour minister in 40 years.
How do you feel about this important breaking of the glass ceiling which has kept your brethren out of the corridors of power for so long?

Someone from the planning department of the local council sent me this today.
It has been decided that we can no longer use the term "Gyppo". We must now refer to you as a Caravan Utilising Nomadic Traveller.

I don't mind, just as long as they don't decide to abbreviate it.

WP Tom.
A few years back, my mate was working for the local authority in the housing department. It was a scheme to move families from london to a better type of accommodation in Derby upwards. He suggested a few titles for the front page of the brochure, the one that he threw in for a giggle was titled, 'Come Up North Today' which was the one that was picked by Derby Council... he then had to explain why it couldn't be picked...

Women should NOT be allowed to have mobile phones. The only purpose they serve is to raise my blood pressure.
I have a wife, 4 daughters, a sister and a mother. all have mobile phones. Is it possible to contact any of them? No.
When, at some later date, I enquire as to why, this is what I'll hear.
I forgot to turn it on.
I left it at home.
My battery went flat.
It was in my bag and I couldn't hear it.
I put it on silent because it wakes the baby up.
I pressed the wrong button.

Mobile phone? Surely you could just shout "I want food" and they'd hear you in the kitchen?

Sadly, the time when women spent their days in the kitchen, barefoot and pregnant, is long gone.
