Welcome back to the second start day for the Walsall GUKPT. People playing today include last years' winner Jerome Bradpiece, Dan Carter, Stuart Fox and Jen Mason amongst others.

Play begins at 3pm.

Come and join us, and as sickies Maria and me cough, splutter and sneeze our way through the day.

Early action for last year's champion Jerome Bradpiece.

He raised to 150, Red Dog called, T Lukashaugen (Scandie) made it 400, Jerome called and so did Red.

Jerome bet 50 in the dark.

Red Dog calls the 50, Lukashaugen makes it 1,500. Jerome makes it 3,000. Red passes and Lukashaugen calls.

Jerome bets 3,000. Lukashaugen tanks it for a while before moving in and Jerome instantly calls showing . Lukashaugen's are drawing dead and the river means nothing.

Dan 'Eufro' Carter, who finalled last year, also has had a good start having hit a straight and a flush in the opening few hands.

Jen Mason is doing less well, she bet 900 on the the turn of a board before paying off a 2,500 bet on the river from Stuart Nash, who held .

Wishing the bestest of luckage-ings to Ms Jen Mason. Go my one percent!

As for you malingering updaters, can I recommend a Cheeky Vimto? It'll kill whatever bacteria are making you poorly, and make you feel like a hero to boot.

She's only got about 3.5k at the moment.

More than Ramazanali Abbassi though, who has just 2k after running Aces into Tens on a A-J-T-T-x board. Gah...

Mark Friedman, 3rd place finisher in the GUKPT Grand Final has taken off already with a treble up.  His chips were not gained in a 3 way coup but rather pots here and there.  A big initital coup for Mark coming when his oppo used a 4 in his hand for a straight but Mark held the 4 & 6 for a flashier and more lucrative straight.

.....................................................................

Red-Dog has taken a small hit but was happy to have lost the minimum in this hand with AK.  Tom's preflop raise called by G White with K5 and was rewarded with a flop of

K 5 5

White bet out 500 and Tom smooth called, the turn was a

6   White led out again and Tom called and they both saw the river

5  White again bet out 1,600 where Tom called most likely thinking now they were gonna chop!

Tom McCready down to 7,000.

Moving past Table Neville/Roberto  I see (and hear) Barry is all in for 2,625 on this flop (not sure how he got so low but now entirely out of character for him):

With only Roberto Romanello in the pot with Barry, Roberto inquires "How much is it to take out Bary Neville?"  After a few seconds thought, he makes the call, on their backs boys:

Barry
Roberto

With an astounded look on Barry's face and the comment "How the feck could you call with that?"  Roberto just said "Well I worked out what you had!"  Easy peasy this poker lark innit!

No improvement for Barry Neville and he takes an early bath.

Tom McCready and the rest of the table I am assured are having problems with Jerome Bradpiece runnuing over them.  Tom says that Jerome is "knocking everyone out like skittles" after he knocked out Rob Stevens and that Tom is only in a hand when is "Jerome is not!"

.................................................

Rupert Elder - 6,400

Daniel Rudd (Upthe Mariners) - 6,700

The players are now on a 15 minute break in which the chip counting munks will be busying themsleves getting full counts for us - Hoorah.

Does anybody else think these updates are really slow?

Does Mick McCool play today? If so can you send him my regards....

Sorry, Maria and I are so ill we feel like a couple of corpses.

I spotted Colin Gillon, who is on Jen's table. He's chipped up after getting it all-in on the river with A-A against Stuart Nash's 7-7 on a 7-5-x-x-A board. Dan Owston is also on this table with about 13k.

Jen has dropped another 2k after flat-calling an UTG+1 raise with A-K, the small blind also called. The flop was A-J-T, Jen check/called a 500 bet, as did the small blind, but on the J turn, both checked to her, so she bet 900. She was called in both spots, so all three checked the small club river. The small blind also turned over A-K but UTG+1 had for a rivered backdoor flush.

Ooops Sorry to mis inform but full chip counts will not be colated until the dinner break which will be at the end of Level 4!  This actually makes a lot of sense because there are so many to get and by the time Jon inputs them all and sends them out to us they are usually quite skewed with reality.

If anyone wants specific counts just shout out and we shall serve!

I have kindly been given some rough counts of chip daddies of random tables for you now.

Stephen Spencer  22,000
Andrew Bradshaw 14,000
Alan Dean  17,000
Dave Clark  17,500

John Fletcher  17,800
Craig Owen  27,000
Dan Samson  18,000
David Maudlin  18,000

chip count for Dewi please Maria or snoops

Snoops isn't playing, so you'll just have to make do with Dewi having 7k at the break.

Neel Chudasama has trebled through Jon Hewston and John Kabbaj. A-J was good on a 7-5-A-J-K board.

Dewi_Cool is OUT.

He held on a Two Clubs board against Chicken Joe's and Richard Ashby's . The Queens held and Dewi is out, whilst Ashby is left holding lol shrapnelments.

Pete Linton has been utterly crippled after having Aces vs Kings, his opponent hitting quads. He pulled a face, rather like the one below.

Jen Mason has doubled up to the lofty heights of 4.8k after her Tens held against Dan Owston's King Jack.

Nik Persaud has doubled up through Sami Yusuf with vs on a Two Diamonds , all the money in on the flop.

Shortly afterwards though, Sami Yusuf doubled up with Jacks vs Ed Giddins' Eights vs Neil Channing's T-9. Channing hit a Ten though to take the sidepot. Mick McCool says he passed Queens. Roll Eyes

Tony Mackay is OUT. His Aces were no good against Tuan Le's two pair.

Tim Flanders  2,700
Daniel Rudd  15,000
Rupert  5,700
Pete Linton 1,700 (Poor guy near consecutively lost with AA v KK, KK v on an Ace high board then JJ v KK)
Trevor Reardon  12,000
Stuart Fox  11,600

............................................................................

Roberto Romanello is now OUT and retelling his fate from the rail.  He got moved to table Linton/Fox/Reardon and flopped a straight against Trevor Reardon.  All the chips went in on the flop as Trevor had flopped 2 pair with the mighty 7 4!  A housetastic 4 dropped  in on the turn to send Roberto spinning!!!  It seams simultaneously Richard Ashby got knocked out on another table and tried to trundle Romanello off to the cash tables!

Mick McCool has knocked out, I think, Noel Hayes though I'm not totally sure it was him in the 10 seat. Kings vs Ace Queen.

Vince 'Celtic' Calenti has knocked out Jon Hewston after the latter 4-bet all-in from the cut-off with Ace Queen and Celtic called with Kings. He's on 21k.

3rd place in the GUKPT Grand Final. Mark Friedmann is OUT.

Just before the dinner break, I caught the end of a great hand for Pete Linton.  Somehow within an hour he had gone from 1,700 to about 10,000 then on a board like below against Michael Bolous:

He was all in for his last 7K and Michael was deep in the tank.  Pete was doing his best to look nervous but Michael was just thinking could Pete have another monster?  All Pete had shown down were big pocket pairs, but he couldn't lay down his  and Pete doubles again with AA to about 21,000.
