He might be smiling in this photo, but after calling 500 and 1,600 on the Turn and River respectively of a Two Clubs board, Paddy Dooley's mischevious grind soon turned sour as he was show by Damien Kent for the flopped straight. Also notice a midget Thomas Bomber in Seat 1 looking on in disgust - perhaps he folded a house?

Many of the Dublin regulars who vacate the Sporting Emporium will know this face. Well, at least they should, because they pay his wages. Financier, business guru, entrepreneur and Celtic FC major shareholder Dermot Desmond is here this weekend in an attempt to take his newfound interest in poker to the felt. Or is it in fact Nicky Power's tighter, more cautious (his words) father Butch Power?

YEAH BABY!!!  Pays to know people.  Or to err...know people who know other people.  Between the lot of them...I've got access to a lappie for a couple of hours.  Big thanks to my secret lappie source!!!

With nobody knocked out and average stack equal to starting stack, I'm sorry I didn't pay more attention to the team pep talks in the lobby.  That would have given us something to report on for the past hour.

Neill just announced to the room, 'Last team event we lost our first player in 6 minutes.  And he's not from Killarney.'  Wonder who he was having a go at there, but hoping his announcement sparks some inspirational play in the room before the break.

Meanwhile...........

***Laxie Bar Watch***
Snoops just threatened to cut me off when I haven't even got going yet.  Might toss him in the closet next.  But maybe not.  Reckon we'll need him later when the room starts to go mad with knockouts galore...at some point...surely.

Hi, guys. I think that's Vera Duffy above, but if we post a picture of anyone that you know, then please feel free to let us know a bit more about them.

I have a picture in my gallery of Nicky Power pointing at the unwitting bonce of a well-known Irish player. But, before I show you that photo, and also to convince myself that there are people watching these updates, can anyone untangle my taxing clue and work out who that player is?...

Well done, Mr Prew. Your prize? A night out on the tiles with Laxie, although I'm afraid you have to get the drinks. Gulp.

Still awaiting our first exit of the day, there is an all-in on one table with Aiden O'Hara's set of threes in great shape against Anthony Lynch's American Airlines on a 5-8-3 Flop. A Queen Turn and Ten River mean that O'Hara doubles up to 25,000, still leaving us with our original 124 players.  Could be a long one, we're almost into Level 4. Is this some kind of record??
