Welsh chatterbox Roberto Romanello is back to his old tricks, trying to influence his opponents via the gift of the gab. It didn't work this time, as his opponent held the same hand, but Roberto sure gave it a shot nonetheless.

With a lying patiently on the felt, Roberto (sitting on the button - not literally) stares Lloyd Rees down before asking, rather directly, "What have you got?"

Shockingly, Lloyd didn't fall for this trap and accidentally reveal the cards in his hand, but did smile as the interrogation continued.

"I know you can fold," adds Romanello. "that's the good thing."

"Why did you check?" he continues.

"Would you call an all-in, that's the question?"

As Lloyd, and the rest of the table for that matter, drifted off into a deep sleep, Roberto's face turned serious and he bet out 1,875.

"Call!" exclaims Lloyd Rees instantly.

At this point, I think both players clicked that there was a strong chance that they held the same hand, and that's exactly what they had, Roberto's and Lloyd's resulting in a chop chop.

As I said yesterday, we're basically waiting until the end of Level 2 to fix the clock, as we won't be sure of the number of runners until then. I put an arbitrary ballpark 200 to start it off, to give you a general idea. Will be fixed shortly.

Meanwhile I have got you some snaps of update favourites, as follows:

Ms Fran Creed, obviously having a marvellous time. She's buying my CD, too, for some reason, which will provide a welcome boost to my income for the week. Smiley

Messrs Roberto (please provide your own rrrrolled Rrrrrrrs) Romanello and Karl Mahrenholz, the Little and Large of Table 21:

Praz "Will Pretend That No-One Is Taking My Photograph" Bansi:

Dave "This Is My Attempt At Smiling This Early In The Day" Colclough:

Nick "Standing Up So It Looks Like Something Exciting Is Happening But Actually It's Not" Hicks [EDIT - actually in reality it is of course Hugh Kirton, but I am a sleepy stupid updater who has not yet had requisite 8 cups of coffee]:

Thought so, I'm having a horrific day at work and wish I was down in London, you'll have to excuse my sarcastic, horrible mood.

You've actually snapped Hugh Kirton there, whom I shall support, having been reminded of him, from the rail along with, say, eeny meeny miney Chili and Vicky Coren.  And Stu Rutter.  Am I allowed four?

PS Dana I did your shopping.

Oh duhhh, yes of course I meant Mr Hugh Kirton, he used to come round to our house and everything, I really have no excuse, but I shall invent one anyway. Brain was accidentally set to FREEZE, have reset it to mere CHILL now. Should be thawed shortly.

Thanks for the shopping man! Did you get the Kahlua?

All that and ID'd by a shortsighted checkout lady too.  Np, can't expect you to be able to read four-digit player identification codes this early in the day...
