Can't help but wonder if the media fallout with the whole Sklansky thing has been the catalyst for her actions. RIP Brandi.

If its true she can be no more than 25-26 -- such a tragic waste of a life - what turmoil was she suffering, must have been overwhelming - may she now have peace

this is truly sickening if its true
Its also the reason why I tended to hate forums, on 2p2 and NWP etc, you get a bunch of anonymous assholes that just take such delight in insulting others, its not just a small pleasure, its a complete warming of their souls, to run people down so much and denigrate posters. Was she a soul that deserved acclamation? definitely not. Did she deserve all the purile bullshit that she got from these forums? definitely not. I feel so everso sorry for her, and I cant help but think that the scum on 2p2 and NWP etc in some way contributed to this mess. I hope the scumbags on those forums that took such delight in insulting her are feeling happy with their lives, because if this is true, they definitely contributed to this.
Of course, that Micon guy that runs NWP will do anything to earn a couple $$, so theres no real reason to believe that this is true, but if it is, NWP/2p2 etc need to take a good look at themselves, and do some soul searching to find out why they hate humanity so much that they can just sit and insult it like it means nothing.

not partially to blame but hugely to blame. Brandi had some problems and everything she did in her life was ripped to shreds on other forums, imagine every mistake you have ever made being highlighted on the internet for ridicule. I am really in shock

This is terrible
The woman is a victim of bullying. I took a look at the thread that was linked on blonde and I was ashamed on 2+ 2's behalf. It should be a lesson to anyone going in for a bit of 'fun' at someone elses expense. The pack mentality is dangerous and we never really know how people feel when the 'joke' or slagging is directed at them. Maybe this will help that kind of person people grow some insight?
I really hope its not true but if it is Im sorry to hear it. RIP Brandi..

I always try and stay clear from massive forums like 2p2 and such.
I remember my post count on pocketfives was approximatley 3, before I made an innocent post about Zee Dustin and got a barrage of PMs from young American lads along the lines of "I kill you f$^$£& f%$^&$"
Same thing with 2p2, I browse it every day because the hand analysis, news and so in is superb, but essentially they all become forums for american $0.10/$0.20 players to abuse anyone who has actually done ok in poker.
Also, I have no idea how women even bother to browse there, some of the prepubescent frustrated rants directed towards females is awful (David Sklansky included in this demographic)
Havent really followed this particular story though, reminded me of Jerry Springer

I thought it the time of the big Brandi threads that if I were Mason Malmuth I would be extremely unhappy with Sklansky's public contributions on the forum and nothoing since has changed my mind.
"All publicity is good publicity" isn't always true IMO.

Shocking waste of a young life.
Whilst I don't condone how Brandi chose to live, it was quite clear to me from reading various stories about her that this was a young woman with a lot of issues who needed help, and I can relate to a lot of that on a personal level.
RIP Brandi.

While not disagreeing that this is a very sad story, 2+2 etc have absolutely zero to do with this event.
