I foresee this scenario...

Liverpool man U final

gary neville comes on in the last minute while its still 0-0... and scores a stupendous own goal Smiley

First suicide in the champions league??

Now if Neville scored an own goal against Liverpool in the final ... His name would be chanted on the cop forever more ... I think your scenario would be welcomed by 99.9% of neutrals (apart from the suicide bit obv.) Cheesy

Question should be ... which would hurt more to a liverpool fan.

I would take a guess that they would be in a world of hurt if they lost the final to Man Ure, but then i would expect that to be the same with Manc fans, they would hurt more losing to Liverpool in the final than Barca in the semis ... wouldnt they ?

I'd rather lose now than to Man U in the final. As always, we're not expected to go any further, so it stings less. Plus it'd still be seen as 2-1 to Liverpool when it comes to crunch semi finals Wink. Finally, without Mourinho winding everyone up I dont hate Chelsea so much. In fact I quite like Grant and how he's handled the comical amount of pressure he's under considering how well he's done.

It's the same for every Man U fan I know. They are praying we dont make the final. They can handle losing to a half a million pound team built by the deepest pockets in football better than losing to us.

With the greatest respect to Liverpool and Utd fans not from Liverpool and Manchester, I think people from the actual cities would feel even more strongly about it than I do about not wanting to lose to the local rivals.

I disagree with tht, i'm from Manchester and believe its exactly what we want.

The pleasure in of beating the scouse in the final and the game as a whole would be unparrallel to anything before.

I dont have the ability to physically cheer you on tonight, as i hate the scouse milesssssss more than chelsea, but i hope you win when its all done.

Fair point but that's because you believe you can win (and rightly so).

If somehow you knew for a fact that you'd lose to Liverpool in the final would you rather have lost last night?

Find this very interesting, why would people of wanted a non all english final and wanted to barca to win, man utd are the only team who have more english players mainly internationals than any other team week in week out!

I support Southend United, but would like to say well done, and bring on the all english final, will finally proove who is the best team in Englan!d!

Yeah ur right there.  I think losing to Liverpool in a champs league final would be amazingly depressing.

Barcelona aren't in the same league as any of the other semi finalists.

Figuratively and literally correct.
