Christmas Party 2012

Friday 21st December 2012


Last night was the Hotel staff Christmas party, good night was had by all, free beer/wine/soft drinks, canapes on arrival choice of Salmon en croute or Beef Wellington for dinner followed by selection of cakes and pastries.

There were party games and the visit from Santa where each of the staff receive a gift from our owner, this is a really nice touch when you think companywide there are around 1,000 staff. My gift this year was a watch (which Roxannes's brother will love when we go home).

Roxanne looked amazing IMO not wishing to put a bok on the remaining few weeks but she really has sailed through her pregancy, no sickness, no moans or groans, she will continue to work until the end of the month and then start her maternity leave on Jan 1st.......

Was chatting to a girl yesterday that lost her family home in Mindanao a few days ago in the typhoon. That kinda stuff brings you back down to earth....

Quick Update

Thursday 10th January 2013

So Roxanne wakes up this morning 04:50 and is in a fair bit of pain, I tell her not to worry as we have ante natal class later today at 14:40 and they will check her then.

In all fairness to Roxanne not once during her pregnancy has she complained about anything and she continued to work until Dec 31st.

By the time we go to ante natal she is in quite a lot of pain so they take her into the main ward for a check over, Head is not engaged as yet and her waters have not broken so they feel she can come home although we may be going back in a few hours. A few more tests are done and they can see she is in a lot of pain so they give her the option of stayin in which we both agree to, so that is where we are at right now.....

Have a feeling it is going to be a very long night..............hard work being a father to be
