Maria says to me, "I'm in high spirits now Chris."

"What sort of spirits?"

She then literally tries to spell it out for me.

THREE-WAY ALL IN OF THE DAY SO FAR

I only caught it at the turning-over-cards stage, so this is what I conjecture happened:

Dave Colclough went all in. Jonothon Butters also went all in. Bernard Litman called.

Or some sort of combination of limp-raising-re-raising-all-in.

Anyway.

Dave Colclough - Pocket Nines
Jonothon Butters - Pocket Kings
Bernard Litman - Pocket Aces

Board - a completely uneventful two spades

El Blondie and Butters leaving; Litman on the far right with all their chips:

Roberto has been having a few problems as well. With 8k or so in the pot already, Ian Tweedy shoves for his last 4150 on the turn of a board. Roberto dwells up for a long time. He keeps asking if Ian has a pair of Sevens. Ian keeps insisting that he has a pair of Deuces and Roberto should call if he's beating that. Eventually Roberto calls, and is most disappointed that Ian is holding . Roberto is holding , for a hand that would indeed have beaten a pair of Sevens. River - an inconsequential . Double-up for the needy Tweedy.

Some trouble for Ms Michaela Johnson.

She bets 1050 from the cutoff on a flop, and Sami Yusuf on the button calls.

Turn - - Michaela checks and Sami bets 2225. She hesitatingly calls.

River - two spades - again Michaela checks, and then calls Sami's 3625 bet, apparently a little unwillingly. She mucks when he turns over for what was a pretty monstrous hand all the way through that...

Shaun Williams is OUT, he held a set of sixes on a flop but ran into which caught the on the turn.

James Keys has gone out also, he bet 1,100 on a three clubs flophttp://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=33710.45
Bluesq.com GUKPT Newcastle: Day 1B - Interactive, Steve Jelinek made it 4,000. Keys moved in after a think and Steve shrugged, and called with leaving Keys drawing very thin with . No help on the board and Ace high scoops.

Leo Kam -- 32k

Mick Fletcher bets 6.5k on the river of a board. Michael Hill eventually calls with , and Mick can only show Jacks, giving Hill a nice 23k pot.

Tim Blake is OUT. JJ Hazan limped for 200, Jon Huckle raised to 600, Christopher Jones made it 1,800 and Tim re-raised to 4,000. Hazan passed, Huckle moved in and Jones passed Queens. Tim called for the other half of his stack with Kings fearing the worst which was confirmed when Huckle showed 'dem bullets. No luck for the birthday boy. Karl Mahrenholz said, "Please make sure everyone knows that JJ took the longest to dwell with his ..."

Chris Bruce is another busto. He raised Kings to 600 on the button, before the small blind raised to 800, having assumed Chris has just limped, he instead made it 1800 and then Jon Kalmar moved in. Chris quickly calling for his remaining 8k stack and the small blind passing Jacks. Jon showed Ace Queen, the first card and another Ace popped out and he's off back to Nottingham.

Dave Clark and possible New Zealander Alan Goodrum?

Roberto Romanello -- 16k

Karl Mahrenholz just escaped, he held Two Clubs two spades on a two hearts but didn't get his stack in til the Two Diamonds turn. Luckily he'd one-outered David Seear who was holding . No on the river and Karl is up to about 8k.

Chili Sobriety Count -- Non-existant.

We're just about to go on a dinner break. All chip counts and other requests (that Dana isn't about to put up) will be done during the break or afterwards...

REQUESTAMENTATIONS

Apologies for the delay, we legged it to the buffet to beat the crowds. Mmm, cheesecake.

Niall O'Gribin, 12.5k

Simon Zach - I'm afraid OUT. I believe he attempted to pull off some sort of bluff against James Akenhead, who was holding 2 pair and having none of it:

Womble, 7.5k

Mick Fletcher, 8k

Antoni Romanello - "not much" - 5k - Henning Granstad put him all in with an open-ended straight draw and a pair, and Antoni folded his overpair. Not massively happy. Henning is massively happy. I think Henning is always massively happy. Here is a photo of Antoni looking pretty happy though:

Morris McCarthy - OUT - he was actually the M Mccaritiy that was bizarrely misspelled on our original player list, sorry.

Dewi - 9.9k

Liam Flood - 9.5k

Alan Goodrum is OUT,A-J into A-K, and Dave Clark who was formerly sitting next to him said that he was definitely not a Kiwi; rather sounded Northern.

Incidentally, an unusual hand from right before dinner -

As I arrive, Mateyboy on the cutoff has 600 in front of him, Rob Sherwood on the big blind has 2300 in front of him, and Priyan De Mel in mid position has all his chips in front of him - around 8k. Matey folds pretty quickly, but Rob Sherwood thinks about it for a while and calls.

Priyan De Mel -
Rob Sherwood - er, . Hmm.

Board - an exciting-but-no-proverbial-cigar two spades

Double-up for Mr De Mel.

During the dinner break, we were chatting to Nick Romanello about his table. "It's very tough, I love my table but I could really do with some hands."

Soon after, he's raising to 750 from early position only to pass a Shaf re-raise to 2,250. Shaf's table banter chirps up once more, though it's all good-natured on this table.

On the next table Maldini32 raises from the cut-off on Dewi's big blind.

Dewi, "You've got a hand."

Maldini, "Well I can't really tell you that..."

Dewi thinks for a moment, "Guiness Power!!!" says Maldini, Dewi thinks for a bit more before  moving for about 5k.  Maldini insta-folds.

"Does he have a hand? In a word," says the small blind, "No!"

Maldini later confesses he had Q-7 suited.

Here's John 'Johnes147' Eames in seat 10 primed to attack James Akenhead's blinds.

John never stops being bemused by some of the play that he's seen today. He's got about 17k mainly through a guy going all-in against him with A-J against his A-K. He's wary of James though.
