I agree that england do underperform at the big tourneys however its a bit of a crazy statement baring in mind pre 08 how we've lost in teh major tournaments

I definitly aren't trying to defend england play well cause i don't remember the last time i seen them play well in any game just saying in tournaments the results haven't suggested a team not good enough a think we've lost 3 of last 4 tourneys on pen (pre 08) bigdecisions have undoubtedly screwed us (i'm not making up excuses this is FACT!)

However my opinion of the whole set up at national level has never been lower to suggest it's a joke is a massive understatement

Last world cup we underachieve was 70' imo. We were the 2nd best team in that tournament, only the brilliant Brazil 70 team were better than England.

Last world cup we underachieve was 70' imo. We were the 2nd best team in that tournament, only the brilliant Brazil 70 team were better than England.

The German team were pretty good... 66 World Cup runners up, 70 World Cup semi finals (knocked out England in QF, Beckenbauer dislocated shoulder)  72 European Championship winners 74 world cup winners.

Come to think about it, ze Germans may have been better than the England team in 1970.
