One I suck out, the other takes me out.

Only a $2 PLO SnG as I'm still a novice at this form, the question is did I play these hands badly, or did I just get lucky/unlucky?

Cheers

1st Hand:

Blinds 50/100, 5 of 6 players remaining, I'm UTG with 1210 remaining.

Hole Cards:

I pot it and get 3 callers (only SB folds).

Flop:

BB Checks, Only 860, with a pot of 1450, so I go all-in.

Cut-Off calls, rest fold. CO turns over  x x for a full

Spike the  for a better full (lucky fish)

2nd Hand:

Blinds 100/200, 3 of 6 remaining (Bubble-time), I'm on the BB with 3170, all 3 stacks even.

Button folds and serial raiser on SB raises it to 500, 300 to call into a 700 pot.

Hole cards:  three clubs .

Flop comes  .

SB pots it for 1000, I have 2,670 left so with 2 pair and an open-ended, push all-in and get called. (I get 80 chips returned)

SB:

Turn:

River:

So Jacks and sevens beats my eights and sevens. (why don't I get anything for 4-pair in Ohama!  )

The question is, could I have played either of those two hands better, I'm pretty sure that the first hand pretty much played itself and I just got v. lucky, the second hand is more of an interesting one.

Was the pre-flop call too loose? Then given the 2-pair and draw, was the push unreasonable?

Or overall, should I not bother analysing a $2 PLO SnG as no-one involved (including me!) has the faintest idea how to play the game?

Cheers guys.

(Stands back and waits for everyone to flame me.)

ask holdorfold she is the expert on omaha.

How can you say that, she only made ONE mistake in the whole SnG!

I thought both were played relatively well. Just the luck, good and bad, of the cards Smiley

Cheers guys.

With hind-sight, agree, should really have pushed in the 2nd hand.

I'm a bit of a mathematician, so always have odds in mind. There's a plethora of Hold'em odds sites around, but does anyone know of one for Omaha? Also, how bad a shape would I have been pre if I'd got it all in? My complete guess would be about 60/40 ish dog.

Cheers

In a $2 STT I play them different. I'm looking to get a cheap flop and get my money in miles infront. I don't pot either hand pre.

Lol like you have fold equity in a $2 omaha sng you fish Smiley Re-raise pre because its fun, not because you wanna abuse a $4 bubble in a game where people (including myself) dont have a fold button

I will defer to your judgement, you have far more experience in $2 games than me...

Tuffster, try this...

http://www.cardplayer.com/poker_odds/omaha

As for the hands, the first absolutely fine, 2nd is marginal as whether re-raise or call, player preference... Only it flops, nothing you can do...
