- so if I have a different opinion form others I should keep quiet?!?

Tbh, yes.

This thread is asking for staking, you don't need to tell everyone they are mad for doing so.

There are a number of threads on here where I completely disagree with some of the things being asked of, but sometimes you have to stop your fingers from hitting the keyboard, especially when it doesn't ask for opinions!

I should keep quiet?

And The title of the thread is ?!?!?

My comment just backed up the title (tongue in cheek). All I have done then is answer posts directed at myself.

Paul

I think the point is that this isn't an investment in the traditional sense, its a chance for people who know Iron, and admire him, to help him have a chance to recognise a dream.

Whilst of course money and sentiment aren't usual bedfellows, the amounts pledged by each individual are hopefully small for them, but in aggregate could reach quite a sum

Should the sentiment turn into an investment, fantastic. If not, no bother as far as my stake is concerned

in that sense its not a "usual" stake.

So how am i "pissing" on this thread as Snoopy so elequently put it?

well thats his opinion, and phraseology

If I may be so bold, I might say that despite a number of people pointing out after your first post on the thread that you had slightly missed the point about the attraction of the stake (ie their admiration for Ironside), you then repeated the point you made that Snoopy then quoted. Thus confirming that you had indeed missed it.

P.S M3boy ya tight bassa get staking- is 0.1% at £7.50 too MAD for you??

No it isnt, money is money, and although I wish Ironside well , to me this represents a bad investment.

Money and sentiment should be kept well apart imo.

Oh and yes ive played PLO with Iron! Wink

Ah this post you refer to?

All i did was answer a question put to me - hardly what I would call "pissing" on a thread.

And if I may be so bold - Indeed, I see nothing wrong with it - and although I take no offence in the next post made by James, I would consider this to be just as bad (if not worse) by your judging standards

So Snoopy is allowed to have "his opinion" because it agrees with "Blonde" or because it disagrees with mine?

I really fail to see the difference

You are of course allowed your opinion too. Being expressed as we speak. Its a matter of tone and subtext though isn't it? How the point is put across.

I dont even know Iron personally and I have never played poker with him, but I think he seems a great guy from the blonde community- and I love this message board. Like most I dont really see this as a +ev investment (though you never know-gl Iron) so  this is why I'm willing to stump up £37.50 of my own money- i'm sure this is why a lot of people dont mind paying £7.50 for a small stake in him to acheive his dream- just hope you dont talk anybody out of it if they were considering it M3boy- IT IS JUST A BIT OF FUN FOR ME!!!

Indeed, and was my point accross with any malace towards anyone? No

Were other peoples post directed at me in the same manor/decorum? No

Yet I am the one getting the "stick"

GL Ironside - hope you win the damn thing now m8! Wink

As for putting poeple off, I doubt it - This is clearly a "bit of fun", a "thankyou" for a great bloke, to give him "a shot" - none of which I have ever disagreed with.

Aside from James' v dry joke, obviously a joke, I didn't see anything directed at you that was unsuitable Paul.

the "stick" I think comes, not because you are showing malice-you're not-,but from the way you express things sometimes

Just my opinion, not having a go as such. Trying to say it as I see it.

Everything I do/say, and every reply made - brash statement.

To coin a well used phrase now - "FACTS" - to back up your statement?.
