Cheers. Looks like it will be around that mark then and still a few golds to come.

Says the same here:

http://www.olympics.org.uk/beijing2008/aboutteamgb.aspx

"Team GB is the Great Britain and Northern Ireland Olympic Team. "

They have to phrase it like that, because if it was the UK team, then NI people wouldn't be able to represent the Republic, effectively barring NI Catholics from taking part.

is that a serious post?Huh?

That's why I said 'effectively', not 'actually'.

We have more Golds than expected but what about medals?
We were aiming for 41 are we going to get there?
I know we have triple jump and madison that we're likely to gold in + a probable medal in the boxing. Where are the others coming from?
No criticism just want to know what i should watch out for.

Good question.

We have a gold coming in the sailing (proberly).
Gold and silver in the mens sprint cycling.
Gold in the womens sprint cycling.
Madison - one medal?
Triple jump - gold?
Women's 400m - medal in that?
Possibly one medal from the 1500m, 400m, 4x400m?
Boxing medal?
Horsey stuff - another medal?
BMX
Women's 10,000 metre swim

That's another 11 medals.

That still puts us 3 short of the 41 target.   So we'd have to find them somewhere else?

Equestrian effort was lame.

The answer is Phelpsland, which is somewhere in the sea just off the US.

Wahay!!  A guaranteed bronze in the boxing from David Price following in Audrey Harrison's footsteps in the Super Heavyweight division.

Think he had his toughest fight in the first round when he drew one of the favourites who he battered.

I didn't understand how this means he is guaranteed a medal.
He's into the Semi with a win meaning he has a shot at gold so if he loses isn't there another losing semi-finalist to fight?

Ok cheers. Is that so that fighters that may have been battered don't have to fight again?
