Not read whole thread and assuming a few have seen it but saw last night for about 10th time- Owning Mahoney
Great gambling addiction film
Had not seen it before but watched it tonight. Made me feel ill watching. Wonder what a million dollar hole feels like. Punishment didn't seem that harsh although I wonder how many years the bank were taking everything he earned?

I liked that too The film itself was fine, the real strength was the whole 'wow what could I get done with that pill he took?' questions that swirl round your head the whole film. I can tell you now, there are some skirting boards that are long overdue a lick of paint that would get sorted in the Shoelace household if there was such a pill.

War Horse...
On the one hand, good reviews and tipped for Oscars, on the other directed by Spielberg with screen play by Richard Curtis. Urgh.
Horsey starts life in in Devon...
"I be planting turnips in the lower field to be paying moy rent to moy nasty landlord I be."
On to France...
"I make jam and live near a windmill with my granddaughter. Damn those Germans, damn them all to hell!"
On to No Man's Land and horsey gets mashed up in barbed wire. Sure cared by that point.
Expected tears all round here but it's just meh. Spielberg is finished and everything Curtis does now makes me want to chunder.
Horse the best actor on show.
2/10

Some great actors doing the best they could with the material provided. Everything else spot on.

Watched Killing Bono from the old Anytime on the Sky Box last night. I enjoyed it but then I really like U2 and music type of films. Didn't go down overly well with the IMDB crowd but I thought it was a 7.5/10 sort of film.

Watched "Made in Dagenham" on Friday - one of Mark Kermode's favourites from 2010. Really enjoyed it, some great performances. Recommended.

Watched a film called Terri where John C Reiley plays a headteacher and has a few troubled pupils, including Terri a fat kid who cares for his uncle and wears pyjamas to school. Pretty com and quite moving. 6.5/10 also watched the new version of The Thing. 5/10 give the original 7.5.
If anyone hasn't seen 50/50 its a must watch imo. 'We need to talk about Kevin' again with John C Reiley is also very good. Don't read about it, go in blind as they say, stick with it and i think you will be pleasantly surprised. Slow burner, but for a reason.
