I revisited Taxi Driver last night. Bob De Niro performance is just sublime who plays the part of a Vietnam vet with mental health issues who takes a job as a taxi driver. Story is a bit slower than I remembered but it doesn't take anything away from the film.
well worth the trip down memory lane. 8/10
I think this hit home much more to those who watched it as it came out. I thought the film was made by the final scenes and the build up was a little too slow for my liking but added to the gritty realism, which probably made the ending as good as it is.
7.5/10 for me, De Niro is awesome in it.
As for Zero Dark Thirty, I watched that today and that is a really good film, but had some bizarre cameos from John Barrowman and Martin Delaney (of Renford Rejects fame). Which nearly made me start laughing, as my stereotype of each of them was so against the seriousness of the film, when they both popped up at separate times.
Builds at a nice pace and keeps your attention throughout, dealing with the real life events of CIA agents dealing with threats of post 9/11. And the ending is probably the most tense I have felt in a long while at the cinema.
Don't want to ruin any part of the film, so will just say it got an 8/10 from me, and would recommend.
