Sully is a largely pointless exercise...so I found myself staring blankly and emotionlessly at the screen for the duration. What fun.

the blurb described it as "suspenseful and riveting"

how can it be suspenseful when yu know how it ends?

great story and Hanks is terrific but not sure it transferred to the big screen at all really

Snowden- Story of the US FBI/security whistleblower Ed Snowden. Really interesting film giving the details of what it's all about, I only had a rough idea, but some scary stuff in there of what they can do that is really intrusive. Probs changed my mind from ambivalent about this to thinking he did the right thing.

Solid 8/10 from me.

Imperium

Daniel Radlcliffe plays the part of an FBI agent who goes undercover as a white supremacist. Kind of reminded me when Elijah Wood was in Green Street. Well acted and well worth a watch.

7/10 for me

The Edge Of Seventeen.

Film of the year by a distance, 10/10.

Hailee Steinfeld is something else. Even Kyra turned in half a performance.

Watched 'Klitchko' last night, a documentary about the boxing brothers up until about 2011, I thought it was worth a watch, some interesting stuff I didn't know about them as I only dip into boxing for the big fights.

Not going to score it, but basically if you like a bit of boxing you will probably enjoy it, if not then I wouldn't bother...

There's more to life than watching The Godfather films twice a week each.

Do like this sort of flicko though. Was always going to draw comparisons to Juno but it's way better than that. It's almost up there with Fried Green Tomatoes ATWC.

Sully

Thought this was a good film and doesn't go down the route of hero worshipping but us a quite balanced analysis of what happened that day. Shows how the Captains role was scrutinised at every step and how he had to prove that without the advantage of hindsight and months of simulations that it was an incredible piece of work by him and not a careless risk.

If you see the film don't leave until the credits finish as they are interspersed with footage from the real passengers and the crew meeting each other.

Interesting and heartwarming too
