i am being taken to see Rogue one.

I am not really a star wars fan, saw the 1970-80s films but not since

so, to save me researching

is this a prequel, sequel or what? where does it fit in the time line?

do i need to have seen all the star wars films to appreciate it?

one for NY. Went to see Passengers instead.

Now i can watch Jennifer Lawrence for hours. not classically beautiful but very attractive to watch. She carried this, dominates the screen.

A couple of plot devices really jarred in this one. there is a moral conundrum early in the film that dominates it and just has you thinking "wtf" for most of the rest of the film

good to look at though, fun effects

one for netflix when it comes on, rather than £15 a head for ticket, popcorn and a drink at the cinema!

A Separation is an Iranian film worth watching, just a cool everyday human story with characters you feel for, natty ending as well. Don't be put off by subtitles, I mean The Untouchables was subtitled and how good was that?!?

Just seen an advert for the Trainspotting sequel. Very excited for this, love the Irvine Welsh books and the film was out whilst I was at university - triggers lots of 'hazy' memories every time I hear the music!

Boring as fuck and felt pointless for the first half of the film. Last 45 mins very decent effort for original style Star Wars

Yea for sure there's been a bit of a drought in quality films but I'm finding a lot of love for foreign movies at the minute. Latest is an Argentinian offering called Wild Tales. Check it out, a series of wacky short stories, the road rage one and the wedding one at the end are both brilliant.

Found myself at a bit of a loose end tonight and decided to let this thread seal my fate. I opened this thread several pages back and decided to watch the first film with three positive reviews. The lucky winner was Kingsman.

Thoroughly enjoyed it; some great action scenes and lots of mindless fun.

Well played to the thread.

Yea great fun flick. Kingsman 2 out soon, they filmed some of it at my club, I plucked a ridiculous figure out of the air and they snap paid it.

They filmed most of the This Is England series in my area including at a house on my road, 500 quid a day they were paying to shoot in my neighbors garden and they were there for three weeks. I walked past the filming every day with my dog to see if they wanted to film at my house two or maybe at least get the mutt in shot but they were not having any of it.

Assassins Creed. Surprisingly enjoyable film. Loads of action and nicely set up for a follow on.

10 Cloverfield Lane, just came on Sky Movies.

Really surprising and well told movie, wont go into details as its one of those you are better off not knowing much about, great performance from John Goodman

Saw Fantastic Beasts last night. Thought it was a bit all over the place at the beginning and quite confusing to non Harry Potter fanatics (even though I've seen them all). Effects and overall imagination of the film were amazing and the middle was really enjoyable. Ending was awful, huge reveal of something I'm sure no one knew or cared about. Only found out afterwards it's the first of a series which kind of makes sense, but as a stand alone film I thought it was pretty poor.

Hacksaw Ridge

I guess most Blondes know that it's the true story of a conscientious objector who volunteered to be a medic but not to bear arms in WWII. You might challenge the choice of lead actor, until you meet the real man at the end of the film. You'll certainly struggle to fully understand our hero's stance, even after seeing the event he attributes it to. But there's no doubt that there are a number of moving, emotionally charged, lip-trembling, eye-watering scenes; and that the battle sequences are hard-hitting and graphic (although I still feel that Spielberg retains the edge for realism in Private Ryan - I know, htfdik?!) The portrayal of his astounding acts of bravery are mind-numbing, but there's always the Hollywood temptation to tug our heartstrings just that little bit more, which sadly (imo) only lessens the overall impact of the film.

Overall, it's a 7½ out of 10 from me. 9/10 for the battle sequences.
