Saw In Time on Wednesday night, not the greatest film ever but thoroughly enjoyable start to finish, including a comedy degen scene where he gambles decades of his life on a gutshot.

7/10

Not new films, but Inside Man and Training Day are both on ITV 2 and ITV 4 tonight. If you haven't seen them, definitely give it a go. My pick would probably be Training Day.

Tyrannosaur - Paddy Considine's directorial debut. Powerful, Pulls no punches from then off. 8.5/10
50/50 - Seth Rogan who I don't normally like and the kid out of 3rd rock from the sun. Heart warming and uplifting movie about dealing with cancer. 8/10 get em both watched.

7/10

Saw it last night, also a 7/10 for me. Good concept, Timberlake acted well but the biggest problem for me was that he was such a cliched hero I couldnt quite get into it.

Lots of nice crumpet in it though.

"In time" = Enjoyable tosh. Great premise, some good ideas. A serious film about social inequality in there waiting to get out, but let down by lol script moments. Enjoyed watching Mila Kunis sprinting to avoid death in killer heels. Most amusing

"My week with Marilyn" Well worth catching for an incredible Marilyn Portrayal by Michelle Williams. Film itself has a real clunky clobby script, but the Williams performance is Oscar-bait

This. This is basically what has been nagging me about the film which you have managed to phrase perfectly.

Shame you bollocked up your totty spotting, it wasn't Mila Kunis, it was Amanda Seyfried.

wellllllll

if we're on to foreign films, I can recommend about over 9000 german ones.

Start with (EN titles in brackets where appropriate)

Das Leben der Anderen ('The Lives of Others')
Goodbye, Lenin
Lola rennt (Run, Lola, Run!)
Die Welle (The Wave)
Die fetten Jahren sind vorbei (The Edukators)
Ein Freund von mir (A friend of mine)
Der Untergang (Downfall, prolly the most famous DE film in UK...it's where the hilter finds out meme comes from)

Celda 211 is also a fucking awesome film. And both parts of Messerine are great ofc.

If you want a personal recommendation, Das Leben der Anderen is fantastic, not just my favourite German film, but also in my top 3 all time.

if so, Der Untergang and Das Leben der Anderen should shortly be making an appearance in that list as well Wink

I think they are both markedly better films.
