Saw several films on sky movies during the crimbo break.

Hot Tub Time Machine - stupid, but quite fun. 6.5/10
The Other Guys - stupid, but quite fun, could have been better. 6.5/10
The Wall Street sequel - quite good, weird last couple of scenes 6.5/10
Bronson - scary, marginally felt like they glorified a psycho criminal, but superb performance from Tom Hardy 7/10

Mission Impossible not bad tbf, all very slick and Tom has still got it. Simon Pegg always has annoyed me and still does but that's prob just me.

Worth a trip to Cineworld just to witness to two staffers argue over the weighing of pic'n'mix.

7/10

Last couple of weeks I've seen-

Senna- Good as long as you like car racing a little bit at least

TT- As above

Green Lantern- Not bad worth a watch

Cowboys and Aliens- Shit, turned it off half way through

Transformers 3- Good, you will like it if you liked the others

Thor- Was ok but don't go out of your way, if you have a spare evening go for it.

Limitless- Good, worth a watch

Cars 2- Good, you will like it if you liked the first one.

After several replys on twitter after I'd asked about Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, went last night and was truly awesome I thought.

Rooney Mara who plays Lisbeth Salander was superb.

Have you seen the original Swedish trilogy? How does it compare? I thought the Swedish films were at least as good as the books, tbh, but I've heard good things about the new one, so I'd be interested to see how it compares.

I havent seen the swedish trilogy no, but intend too.

I suppose a lot of fans of the book/Swedish trilogy would be a bit sceptical of the Holloywood edition, but I can only comment on the one I've seen which was top draw.

little known fact

Rooney Mara is the great granddaughter and granddaughter of the founders of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Art Rooney and the New York Giants, Tim Mara

I thought she was superb in this, and the film itself much better than I expected, and all the better for being left in Sweden and not given the Hollywood treatment

wiki

Mara did not consider the film to be a remake, but another interpretation of the novel. "I plan on giving my interpretation of the character", she stated to Variety.[40] Mara's long brown hair was cut short and dyed black, in a style reminiscent of 1970s punk and 1980s goth fashions. She also had each of her ears pierced four times, and had her brow and right nipple pierced for the role. Her nose and lip piercings were real as well. She kept the nipple piercing so that it would not need to be re-pierced for a sequel.[1] Mara's eyebrows were bleached, and she wore a temporary dragon tattoo.[36] She began preparing for the role by starting to skateboard and kickbox, and underwent dialect and computer training. She also visited Stockholm, the setting of the novel.[41] Mara was nominated for the 69th Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for her performance
