Both of the above films I watched and also found to be very good

Watched Argo tonight though and give it a 5/10. Nothing much happens in the film and its a little slow. Good ending but very slow and arduous build up.

Loved Skyfall

Probably the best Bond, loved how from the moment you saw the old car it was just old style bond

Loved all the M stuff too

Life of Pi, Les Mis, The Hobbit, Reacher...could be a cracking couple of months ahead

Life of Pi was a fantastic book and the film trailer looked visually stunning

Terrible casting of Cruise for this one, most of his recent films are shite and totally ruins it getting a midget to play Reacher

'Margin Call' with Kevin Spacey, Jeremy Irons, Demi Moore just out on DVD. Found it terrible and just so pointless despite rave reviews. I am becoming very grumpy about films.

i enjoyed it, the whole movie was the issue of morality and ethics and how work can jeapordise them, imo

Breaking Dawn part 2.... Truth be known wanted to go and see sky fall but the good lady won out and off pretty vampire hunting we went...

It comes down to the fact if your female and a twilight fan Is how you gauge this film.
I found the initial twilight pleasantly refreshing... It had good atmospheric location and a fresh twist on the genre . The 2nd outing I did not need much persuading to see..it wasn't bad but I left with a sense of for boding as to which direction it was all heading... 3 and 4 brought these fears to fruition especially the first part of breaking Dawn which was pretty tedious .

So to the final part of this saga....Bella now a vampire and mother of a half vamp half human offspring learns that the the dreaded Voltari.. Top dogs of the vamp world might not be too happy as to the possible danger this new half breed might pose.. cue Bella and pals searching out an assortment of friendly
Vampires to argue the case that little miss blood sucker is actually an alright dudette and couldn't possibly be any threat to the eeytie hierarchy ... Really this is them gathering a bit of a crew for the inevitable vampire mass punch up with a few werewolves thrown in for good measure... Won't spoil it too much as I'm sure your dying to see it but it all wraps up rather lovely in the end and everyone's happy...

Sadly the whole thing feels a little contrived and the central intensity of the love triangle aspect of the tale just fades away and Edward and Jacob seem like a couple good buds when alls said and done....

Twighlight fans will love it of course.. I mean we even manage to get Jacob to somehow get semi naked enough for the young pubescent ladies in the audience to oooo and ahhh at such a finely honed torso ..my own companion smiled wryly..I let her have it as the things I was doing to a few of the cheeky blonde vampires in my mind would be pretty unforgivable, girl ones obv before chompy gets in with the requisite ghey comment....

Overall it was bearable.. Just hoping I don't get roped in to a rerun by my daughters whose interest has wained a tad in light of a group of young Australian boys called the janoskians ... To me they seem a right bunch of pricks but that's probably because I'm a dad and old and young girls minds are even more of a mystery to me than there older brethren ...

So overall a fairly average 5/10 and a promise we can see sky fall next week Smiley

Must admit I found it all a bit too formulaic.  Thought Irons was pretty incredible in it but then I think he is incredible in just about everything.

Sure, got the drift of the movie and potentially it's an interesting subject in certain careers. But do city bankers have morals? When their company is about to implode? Would they take $2.8m to make some calls and sell some stock or quit with nothing on principle? Such a no-brainer it was pointless. Everybody was so rich that whatever happened it just didn't matter to us ordinary folk. And as for the wtf dying dog?

Did find Demi Moore still surprisingly hot though.

'End of Watch'

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1855199/

It's a new film but found a good link to watch and thought it was exceptional as far as cop films go.

8/10

End Of Watch

9/10 - Jake Gyllenhall as good as there is around at the moment. Would've got a 10 but for them tagging on the scene at the end.

Silver Linings Playbook

3/10

Jennifer Lawrence is fantastic and Oscar material as soon as she gets that right role but this ain't it. Loses impetus.

Please get Claudia Winkleman OFF Film 2012. Ta.
