Radio advert for Lone Survivor makes me chuckle. I know the clue is in the film title but the first line in the ad is something like "we're going in with a full man unit"
Works out well for everyone else then?

I was really looking forward to 12 Years A Slave after rave reviews and zomg critical acclaim including 9 Academy Award nomiations. However, it simply isn't THAT good and I felt rather deflated after sitting through a somewhat mediocre production. I often feel the controversial subject matter of movies can inflate the praise heaped upon them by critics and this film is a prime example. Watch Roots if you want a top slavery flick or Django for a more light-hearted but equally first rate watch. In reality it was just ok.

Watched the Hollywood remake of 'Oldboy' last night. Josh Brolin played the lead but the whole time I kept wishing it was someone else. I think for those who had never seen the original would probably love it but for me they massively rushed the captivity scenes and there wasn't enough character development even though I already knew their stories. I still enjoyed it though. 6/10.

A late post for Wolf of Wall Street. Such a great film. Basically a tutorial of what should do if you have more money than you know what to do with. 9/10, at least.

Would defo recommend watching the original still though. The main guy plays a psycho very very well and the director also does an incred job.

Next week in the Mirror http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/bordeaux-fine-wines-wine-deal-3003561 they're doing an Article on Bordeaux Fine Wines, it's a guy called Ken Gundlach, proper scumbag but is the British Wolf of Wall Street, he even had Jordan Belfort motivate his staff.. Great Movie, very rare to see Scorsese get much wrong....

Watched filth today.
McEvoy as the lead character does very well IMO- really tough character to pull off. Another good performance from Eddie marson who has a smaller but very important role.
Enjoyed the film but couldn't help but feel it could have been a little better/ slicker. The last third of the film felt a little rushed and weak. Certain parts of the story tail off too.
Overall it is entertaining, dark in places, funny in others, and worth a rental but it could have been a little slicker.
6/10
