I thought Inception was utter bollocks.

Loved Avatar! It was all about the 3D. Before that film I'd only watched 3D with those crappy red & green glasses so expectations were low. I didn't really care so much about the plot or whatever because I was transfixed by the butterflies flying around the room. I do vaguely remember that the female blue one was strangely sexy and from Jamaica.

Dunkirk

Fajita Friday sees us taking in the tale of the epic evacuation told via three distinct perspectives, from boots on the ground..the little ships as they come across and from the air via a spitfire pilot.

Shot with minimal dialogue throughout, the film works well with haunting moody visuals that enhance the experience no end. The strands of the story narrow to come together as one in clever tale telling.

The film was worth it just for the aerial footage of the dog fighting spitfires alone, absolutely stunning. The sound effects were fantastic too... as you heard the planes creaking as they turned sharply to avoid enemy fire.

Even the one Direction kid did ok.. like I said there wasn't a lot of dialogue.

Much better than the Rah Rah Rah of similar American efforts.. a real sense of danger and terror is brought to bear.. and you really feel this isn't something you would want to have been involved in.

As I said the camera work is spectacular.. shot I believe in 70mm.. you get treated to full wide shots of thousands of soldiers huddled and exposed on vast swathes of empty beaches.

Fantastic and easily worth..

8/10 Fajitas

Saw Dunkirk in IMAX today. Never been to an IMAX cinema before.

Despite the clichéd, minimal dialogue and pretty non existent character development it was pretty spectacular and well worth the outing

What's a movie most people think is great but you believe to be to terrible?

can i kick off with Home Alone?

maybe raise with the Star Wars franchise (pick any film)?

you?

The Hangover

Terrible & crass. The sequels were even worse.

Got to add thin red line, das boot, bridge over the river Kwai, colditz, a bridge too far etc to the list but the three you mention are in a top 10 yes

Just saw Lone Survivor on Film4 with Mark Wahlburger (certainly looked like he'd eaten a few). Based on the book written by the guy, and vets used as consultants on the film. Made 2013 but escaped my radar at the time of release over here. War action pretty much from 15 mins in. Think you'd love it. I did.

yes seen it. i like the true story element

not a huge fan of Wahlberg appearing in every second film that has been released since 2006

I was netflixing a while ago, forget which two films i watched back to back and bugger me if he wasn't in both of them.

Baywatch up online now in good quality.

Not what I expected at all, it's actually a pisstake comedy of the original, gotta say I laughed quite a lot and enjoyed it. If you like films like 21 jump st then you will probably like it. 7.5/10

The Hitmans Bodyguard- Great action movie if you like this sort of stuff. Not too serious, sort of reminded me of Kingsman a little bit, but substitute the Englishness for Americans... 8/10 muthafucka's  Cheesy
