Totally avoided The Greatest Showman knowing it would be terrible

Absolutely none of it. Perfect Sunday afternoon fodder for the family. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Very much in the category of only being enjoyable if watched with small children.
It wears off on the third viewing...

Brightburn more than decent if you like that sort of thing. Paranormal Activity, Cloverfield, so on. Although it's not like either of those two. The kid is excellent, as is Elizabeth Banks.

Yeah this. If you are not a big fan or particularly familiar with Superman it probably not that good, but it sets out a premise of 'what if Superman was a psycho?' and delivers on it well. I enjoyed it.

Thoughts on the latest X Men showing? It’s been slated by the critics and bombed, which has kinda put me off but I’m a massive fan of the series

If you like X Men movies, go for it. Nothing new here and I'm not sold on Sophie Turner but there are worse ways to spend a couple of hours.

Yesterday

I love The Beatles, so I’m biased. It’s an almost totally predictable rom-com featuring the product of the genius Fab Four, with an agreeably imperfect hero and featuring a wonderfully Cruella Deville manager in LA - but so what. Scripted by Richard Curtis (Notting Hill etc), what would you expect? Great stuff for date night, or to take your children (who you’re still trying to convince that The Beatles influenced EVERYTHING) to.

Happy go lucky types - 8/10
Grumpy sods - 3/10

Last Breath 2018 - Actual footage documentary about North Sea diver stranded on the seabed with 5mins oxygen and no chance of rescue for at least 30mins. Caught it on BBC4. Watch it now!

Free Solo

Won best documentary at this years Oscars. Caught it on Sky tonight.

The story of a man who climbs without ropes facing his biggest challenge. It builds slowly, an interesting character study that culminates in a final 20mins that actually made my heart race and hands sweat. Beautifully shot and paced - weaving in lots of back story that makes the final section mean so much.

It's just a 10/10 all day long.

Thanks for the rec.  Would give this 10/10 for the last 20 minutes alone.
Incredible piece of film making and story telling

The latest twenty minutes where as tense as anything I've seen
