Fried slice/toast. Both no no's. Bread and butter is essential, but that's a whole nother thread's worth.

WTF?Huh?  Both very very essential surely!  One can never have too much toast.

Toast has the wrong texture.

Fried slice soaks up too much of the precious heirloom lard.

I'm also in the no beans in a fry up club. In my mind they are only there to take up space and distract you from thinking about the finer things that could be on the plate instead.

This thread has enlightened me, previously I was a beans with your fry up man, but I've seen the light.....Hallelujah Cheesy

I hesitate to mention, but I'm partial to bubble with the fry up, is this wrong!!!

bubble?

Bubble & Squeak

NNNOOOOO!!!!!!!! That's just so wrong!!!!

Surely bubble and squeak should be reserved for monday night dinner, with the leftover veg from a sunday roast??

Correct. Bubble & Squeak is a different meal entirely.

When cooking Bubble & Squeak it should be fried in a very hot pan until the smoke alarm goes off, Then turn it over, re-set smoke alarm, repeat.

Dust with black pepper and serve with leftover meat/veg from Sunday lunch (Fried obv) and crusty bread with thick butter.

Great effort IMO

Good supply of beans, means good prospects of dunking everything in them throughout the feast.

However, no hash browns really is a schoolboy error.

As mentioned possible lack of toast but double varitaions on the egg is a big plus Smiley

Assuming that Soccer AM is in viewable range and a good quality paper like the Sun is available ill gladly dish out a solid 9/10 Smiley

Branston Pickle and HP sauce should also accompany this culinary masterpiece.

I'm firmly in the no bean camp too.  In fact, I don't like any sauce at all with my fry up - the only runny thing I want on my plate is the egg yolk.  My perfect fry up would be:

fried eggs x2
bacon
sausage
black pud
mushrooms
potato scone
toast
tea and OJ

'twas a sunday, and can't get back into soccer Am after Lovejoy put me off after about a year when he suddenly realised he was semi-famous thus should act the twa*t...

I would be happy to replace one of the fried eggs with some scrambled.

I like the idea of a fry-off. Pics in by midday Saturday, fiver entry (to be held in escrow by AdamG). Winner takes all judged by 12 good men blondes.

All entrants agree to abide by the jury's verdict
