Chelsea and #NUFC currently have played four games in common. QPR (a) Mackems (a) Arsenal (h) and Stoke (a) NUFC 8 points, Chelsea 4 points

Cheers Monda, will probably back West Brom (18-1) and Fulham (16-1) largely to do with the management (no confidence in Pardew when times get tough) at each of the clubs.

I actually really like Newcastle, behind the 2 teams I supported since I was a kid and watch regularly (Swansea and Spurs) they are my favourite side so I wish them well, a nice solid eighth place finish would be perfect :-).

Fwiw I'll be suprised if we don't finish ahead of both of them, but you are a lot shrewder than me Smiley

Norwich (just missing a top quality striker, and have the cb from Liverpool to return from injury) or QPR (will spend £15-20M in Jan) are the best bets for value for a top 7 there.

Newcastle will be 7th or 8th. Depends how they will cope after not winning away to man city, man utd, or home to Chelsea I guess (Can see only one point from that lot).

What makes you think QPR will spend £15-20m?  and even if they did do you really think that will turn around this QPR team.  i think they are good things to go down to be honest.

I would be pretty happy to lay Newcastle w/big 6... all this chat about 7th and 8th place is a bit deluded after a few fortunate wins/draws.

Well they matched Spurs who are 5th after playing everyone in top 7 except Chelsea.

They just have hungry players, but could easily blow up after defeats away to city and united soon.

dont get me wrong, i agree that they have done well.  lets not forget that they were very lucky vs wigan and didnt QPR give them a real good run for there money but couldn't finish?

Ba has been playing out of his skin, that won't continue forever as he hasn't become a world class striker overnight.

just think all the hype is a bit ridic really.

quite happy to lay a bit on here if somebody wants a bit better than 7/4 etc.

Quarter of the season gone and they're 9 points clear. Not certainties by a long way but deserve to be mentioned. I thought Stoke and Everton would be the main competition so a win on Saturday would be good.

i'm not saying they don't deserve to be mentioned just a little shocked that so many people, in fairness not all on this thread, are going on about how many points they are behind man city etc... they should be working towards 40 points... Wink

Nobody other than Pads maybe has said this ?

I just don't think anyone outside the top 6 are that good, and with the headstart we have, we have a decent chance. People keep talking about luck, our defensive record isn't luck, we wern't very lucky against Wigan, we won a scrappy game at home against a poor team, pretty std. I'm not getting carrierd away, we are similar in ability to a bunch of other teams in this lge, and our great start gives us an adv over them. We should've came 8th last season if it wasn't for the joke result against WBA last game of the season, so after the start we've had this season I don't think 7th or 8th is an unrealistic target at this point.

Best price 7-4. Can have 9-4 with me any amount Newcastle wo big 6. Win only- and unless i know u personally will have to escrow to avoid another trade-king debacle

Best price 1-3 top 10, can have 4-9 with me any amount, same terms as above.

This is a really fair offer.  I think Newcastle are massively overrated and I sm half tempted so anyone who thinks they are decent should be snapping Dubais hand off.
