still think Newcastle are an average side at best?
Pretty much with these exceptions:
I think Cisse is the best midseason signing since the introduction of the transfer window. Although it must be luck. Plenty of other teams looked at him and passed. What did they see which put them off?
Dropping Obertain has been massive.
Ben Arfa has been red hot, but I don't think he can keep it up for even half a season.
Still don't think there's much difference between Newcastle and any mid table team.
It's variance.

It's just totally ridiculous lol
You fail to mention we have a top top class goalkeeper..
Even of you did miss this you failed to miss out our most important player fabrizio colocini, our captain and driving force. He was nominated in the pfa team of the year.
We then move through to the middle of te team continuing with a fantastic spine and we have tiote and cabaye who have absolutely bossed it, tiote in particular would get in any team in the premiership.
Your comments about hba are just ridiculous, tell me one player from another mid table team who could perform as well as e has for half a season. Even silva went wayyyyy off the boil.
We then have captain pards who gets the best out of ordinary players he has transformed James perch from the worst defender in the premiership to a consistent 8/10 performer.
He has even got the best out of shola ffa.
Pards knows when to play 443, when to play 2 big strikers and has been an amazing tactician all year.
So to summarise... We have a top 3 goalkeeper, one of top 3 centre halfs, one of if not the best midfield partnership, one of the best, most skilful, productive wingers, and 2of the most prolific strikers?
Some people just refuse to give Newcastle credit it's ridiculous.
You also can't say of you didn't have cisse... What if man u didn't have Rooney or arsenal didnt have van persie?

I'll also bet as much as you want that Ben arfas average rating in the first 20 games of next season is higher than a similar player from a mid table team?

Ben Arfa has played really well recently, but he is just a skilful Premiership player. Every team (except prob Stoke and Wolves) has got one. To even mention him in the same breath as Silva is ridiculous
Maloney - Wigan
Taarabt - QPR
Sinclair - Swansea
Hoolahan - Norwich
Sessignon - Sunderland
All capable of playing to the level Ben Arfa has played for the last few weeks.
Krul is good, probably above average. But nowhere near being in the top 5 keepers in the league.
Tiote is good too, but he wouldn't get in any of the top teams starting XI. he's not as good as Yaya Toure, Song, Parker, Carrick or whoever Chelsea play in the holding role (changes every week!)
You've had a great season. Congrats. But don't delude yourself that Newcastle are worthy of being in the Champions League. The only reason you have any chance is because Chelsea, Lolerpool, Tottenham and Arsenal have massively underperformed this season.

Tiote is definitely better than Carrick, Parker and Ramires.

Not sure how Krul is nowhere near top 5 Keith, interested in who the 8 or so keepers are that mean he's nowhere near ?

If we don't strengthen in the Summer as well as keeping our best players I'd be suprised if we challenge the top 6 next season as our squad is too thin and we'll be playing more games. As it is now I'd say there's the top 6 then us and Everton then the rest, don't see any of the rest being able to compare man for man versus our best XI.

4th place points:
2010-11 - 68
2009-10 - 70
2008-09 - 72
We are currently on 65 with 2 games to go. Assuming we need to win them both to stand a chance of 4th then that puts us on 71. To me that's enough points to qualify on your own merits rather than having to put it down to other teams under performing.

Oh and, should we actually finish 4th (still think we're underdogs) then we won't have to delude ourselves that we're worthy of being in the Champions League. We'll know we're worthy of it because we finished 4th. Stands to reason.

Before yesterday Cabaye and Dembele had made the most tackles in the prem. Not something you'd have expected from somebody that is seen as the classier of the 2 CM's.
P.S Keith is on the wind up so don't bite too hard
