Based on today I wouldn't object to swapping Sissoko for Colback but I think Sissoko would offer more going forward.

Never been fully sold on Santon. Isn't he still injured for a while anyway?

sissoko cant pass, shoot or cross, colback can cross/shot so think even he offers more attacking wise

He looked a totally different player at the World Cup, been pretty awful for us since basically his 3rd game for the club.

The we played well today.

Colback was incred and defo our best player. Defo need a new striker, rivière battles well and is v strong but needs improving. Aaron's has looked v decent, it's pretty tough to make your debut vs the champions, I think he will be a good impact sub this season, it's a shame hba has been frozen out of the squad , him de Jong and cabella playing behind a striker would've been v tasty. Sissoko much better in the centre but his end product was terrible at times today. Defo haidara > dummet and santon

I'd like to see Sissoko get a proper run in CM. It is his position after all. Pardew has had him out on the wings. Even yesterday we still had Gouffran out there who really shouldn't be in the starting XI.

Gee, if only we had a natural winger we could select....

Can't believe you guys are ditching Riveiere after one game.  Thought he looked lively if a little raw.

We're not. But he's so far in his career not shown himself to be a 30 goals a season striker and that's what we desperately need. It's currently hard to see where our goals are going to come from.

Proven 30 goal a season striker?  For top division that costs about £50 million these days!

Maybe not 30 goals lol but you get the idea.

Essentially someone like Remy.

Cisse presumably was supposed to be this but was beyond useless last season.

Why don't they just go and buy Remy?  I was wondering this over the summer.  He's obviously available given that the Liverpool deal nearly went through.

That would involve spending money.

Don't be fooled by the amount of headlines saying "Mike Ashley has got his wallet out" and similar. Our transfers are all but covered by the Debuchy/Cabaye sales.

Quite where the TV money has gone is anyone's guess.

Remy has a clause in his contract that they had to accept 8.5m from a club in the CL, would cost us more and he's on like 100k at QPR, gl him getting anywhere near that here, which I wouldn't give him neither.

Problem is I can't think of one striker I want that we could actually get.

I really like Jack Colback and was gutted when he left Sunderland. He has an awesome engine and alongside tiote would make perfect sense to have HBA play a free roll where he doesnt have to track back.

Just you wait. Before long players like Cabella and De Jong will be tracking back and never really being forward where they're supposed to be under the moron we have in charge.

Pretty fkin brutal to drop Aaron's out of the squad and leave obertan in, decent way to knock the kids confidence. Anyway, hoping de Jong gets half hour or so today, pretty important game so early in season
