Incidentally, on the payout board the winners are being listed surname first, first name last -- resulting in one "Steel Guy" making third place. Snigger.

I should mention that although all the blondeites are currently in love with the Pabster, all Jeff Duvall's supporters appear to be in this room. When he doubled up twice in a row, the roar in the cardroom was deafening.

well Jeff's only being playing cash in the Vic for most of the last 30 years!

Just thought I'd provide some journalistic balance, otherwise this might look later as though Jeff has no friends. Smiley

Jeff's been on blonde since the start too. Not a poster, but a big time lurker.

Both he, and Pab, are class acts.

A flurry of fast-paced smaller pots have happened in the last 15 minutes: here they are, just to give you something to chew on:

Pab bets out 120k on a flop and takes it.
_____________________________________________

Pab raises pre on the button to 80k but passes when Jeff reraises to 400k.
_____________________________________________

Jeff limps on the button for a change, Pab checks.  Flop:  .  Pab check-folds to Jeff's 40k bet, although he considers doing something else for a minute.
_____________________________________________

Pab raises to 80k pre and gets Jeff's blind.
_____________________________________________

Pab gets the first walk of the night from Jeff.  And shows Aces.   Shocked  "He can dodge bullets!" one of Jeff's railers shouts.
_____________________________________________

Pab check-raises to 100k on a flop of , called by Jeff on the button.  He declines to call the 300k Pab fires on the turn, though.

Pab raises to 80k from the button, and Jeff flat-calls.

Flop: -- check, check.

Turn:

Jeff checks again, and this time Pab bets 100k. A pause, and then a call.

River:

Again, Jeff checks, and this time Pab bets a whopping 250k. A longer pause... And this time a pass.

CHIP COUNTS RIGHT NOW

Jeff: 1.45 million
Pab: 1.3 million

After a promising start as far the updaters are concerned, this is beginning to look as though it might take a while...

Pab raises to 80k from the button and Jeff decides to re-pop him for 280k. I perk up because someone at the rail says, "Ooh, looks like it might be all in," but it's not, and Pab merely folds. Jeff flashes an enigmatic .

Pab raises the button again, and Jeff calls to see a Two Clubs flop, which they both check. Jeff checks the turn too, and then smooth-calls 120k from Pab.

The river is the and Jeff checks again. Pab takes another 150k stab at it -- but passes after a moment when Jeff makes it 550k. Cheering from the pro-Jeffsters at the rail.

Jeff limps, and Pab makes it another 100k to go. Call.

Flop:

Check, check.

Turn:

Pab checks, and now Jeff bets 200k. A brief pause... and then a weary, "I'm all in," from Pab. An insta-call, and...

Jeff: for the flopped flush
Pab: for the higher flush draw

River.....

......

...

....

Pab doubles up to take the chip lead -- around 1.7 million to Jeff's 1 million or so.
