Good news in that the Team GB football team looks to have the go ahead for 2012.

I was worried that the players involved from which ever country would miss out on the chance to play in the Olympics due to politics, glad it now looks to be on. If we can pull a good team together can you imagine if we actually had the chance to win this at Wembley. Superb.  thumbs up

Scots football is shit, and agree that it's highly unlikely any scot would/should make the team.

I just don't understand why, after all these years they see a need for a British football team just cos it's in the UK.

Olympics are supposed to be for amateurs, wish they'd left it like that.

Most of the players will have to be under 23 in 2012. Obviously there will be a high percentage of English players based on numbers of players to choose from, but would expect players from rest of GB (yes including Scots).

If there were to be a team GB game next week and no injuries or age restrictions what would everyone's starting eleven be? I would only see a maximum of two non English players with any real chance of the starting 11 and one of them's a goalie.
