William Martin limps UTG for 12k, Anutr Amranand follows suit from the cutoff. But then Jim Peppercorn spoils the party...or does he? He makes it 40k which is less a raise than a pot sweetner. Habib Chatoo folds in the big blind but the limpers call, and the pot is getting big with almost 150k in there...

Checked around. No-one want what is basically 5% of the chips in play.

Checked to Peppercorn who (pepper) sprays 75k into the middle. It's enough to win the pot.

On a K-8-K board, Anutr Amranand bets 50k and Habib Chatoo raises to 122k. Call. But that's the end of that action as they check the turn 2 and river 2 down. Amranand shows to win at showdown.

Anutr Amranand limps in the small blind for 12k. Jim Peppercorn makes it an additional 45k. Amranand moves all-in for what must be nearly 600k which seems utterly crazy because they are the two biggest stacks on the table. Peppercorn folds.

I'm completely baffled by that hand.

From actionman's account of peppercorn, it sounds like the man likes to see a flop.

If Anutr had a decent read that peppercorn was weak, the push looks to be a good play.

imo

Does a reraise to 200k not do the same thing? Seems an awfully big risk for your whole stack when second in chips against the only player who can knock you out if you're wrong.

He might flat the 200k with mince though, just as he flatted actionmans 3 bet earlier on

On the turn of an board, Jim Peppercorn bets 70k and Matt Cartwright raises to 150k.

Peppercorn thinks for a couple of minutes before folding face up.

Odds of Peppercorn's every single bet on any flop/turn being virtually min-raised everytime from now on?

There's a fair crowd gathering and no-one wants to look like silly with all that pressure. Plus the hero fold is the new hero calll. Wink

Julian Lefevre who slipped below 200k moves all-in and Habib Chatoo makes the call for almost half his stack.

Lefevre:

Chatoo:

(Not a great start for 4-4)......

Some guy on the rail shouts, "Split pot! It's a split pot," until it's pointed out that Chatoo's Kings and Queens with a Jack kicker wins.

Someone murmurs behind me, "And that's why you're on the rail."

Julian Lefevre is out in 7th place winning £2,955
