James Sudworth raises to 50k to win Bernard Litman's big blind.

Andreas Hoivold raises to 48k and takes Nicholas Holbrook's big blind. He shows .

Andreas raises the next hand also, raising once more to 48k, James Sudworth calls in the big blind.

Sudworth check/folds to a 57k bet from Hoivold.

C'mon Andreas, take it down!  I don't know him but he seems like a really nice guy.

Nicholas Holbrook raises to 57k on the button, takes the blinds.

James Sudworth raises to 50k on the button, Andreas Hoivold reraises to 130k from the small blind. Sudworth moves all-in. Call.

Sudworth:

Hoivold:

three clubs

James Sudworth doubles to about 700k or so. Andreas Hoivold drops to about 650k.

exciting updates floppy, looks like an exciting ft.
i played w james sudworth a year ago & he was a real mover...looks like he's toned it down a tad & it's paying off.
would fancy andreas to close it out from here...

Bernard Litman raises to 60k from the small blind. Nick Holbrook calls.

Litman bets 60k, Holbrook calls.

Check from Litman, Holbrook bets a curious 20k. Litman calls.

Litman bets 60k, Holbrook calls. Litman shows . It's good...Holbrook flashes ...

I haven't really spoke much about Bernard Litman, but it's hard to fault his final table display so far. He's been short stacked pretty much the whole way until he doubled up through James Sudworth, but since then he's really accumulated chips well and looks to be chip leader at the moment. Don't count him out yet.

Andreas raises to 48k and Bernard reraises to 110k from the small blind. Call from Andreas.

Bernard leads out for 200k. Andreas quickly folds. That's the second time Bernard has reraised Andreas and the Norwegian has flat-called only to fold on the flop.

Gl to all left.

Do other people think the standard of the GUKPT has gone up? And how much?

There seem to be enough young players doing well that some exciting new talent will emerge for sure, but I would say the biggest difference is with the bad players. There just aren't very many any more. I remember at the Cardiff leg in the first year Nik Persaud saying "all you have to do the first few levels is wait for someone to give you a Christmas present, and then start playing with 20k," and though an exaggeration, it wasn't too far from the truth. It seems now, however, there are no easy chips. Some people play too passively, and everyone can make a mistake, but nobody any more gives their chips away.

Think it's going to be an interesting year on the GUKPT, especially if an Anders victory adds a few Scandanavians to the mix.
