1/2 holdem playing about £600 with scandi playing the same

straddle to 10....scandi pops it to £25....and I make it £75 from the button with As

call call

flop

check check I bet £200 and the original raiser calls

turn ....check check

river ....   and the scandi pushes all in (about another £350)

I tank for a while and after some time the scandi says I can look at one of his cards to help me decide................after some debate I turn over the ................

this causes much mirth around the table from his mate etc........

I then ask if I can flip and show my cards...........which is agreed...and I table my AA...............

much more laughter and debate around the table...........

What now?Huh?Huh?Huh?Huh? and why?

Why not set him in on the turn?

Only reason I can think of is to encourage him to bet river.
Which he does, so why are we nit rolling him instead of snap calling?

^^this

If he's got 88 he's got 88, 85 and 84 would often raise you on the flop. You have to call imo...

I should have got away from this after he allows me to flip one of his cards.

If I flip a card and see a 4 or 5 its a fold

If I flip a card and see a 2 9 10 J K Q .....its a call

6 or a 7 .....Huh?

so he can only allow me to flip a card if he has 8 8......... and therefore I will always see an 8 .........

I checked the turn for this reason .....so I can get away from it.....and then make a crying call as I dont want to be bluffed by a scandie.....lol

i reckon you have to pass here.

the fact that he offers to show one card almost (99%) certainly means his hand must be massive - if not, its a sick sick bluff.

once he shows you an 8, what else can he have? surely he is not value-shoving or bluffing with A8, he would just try and check it down wouldnt he?

did he have 8-8? cant see any other possibilities really

hahaha okay

why smash in £200 into the pot on the flop just to check it back when pretty much the gin turn card hits with only £350 back?  obviously theres a case at times to check turns to induce bluffs on rivers, but when the pot--->stack size function is as it was, coupled with being up against skandis with deep pockets and a lack of care, you should be absolutely over the moon to send it in on the turn.
