What was the final offer?

this

video is pretty pointless when they don't tell you the final offer. 603k wasn't +ev with 3 boxes and over 2million in play

Lollllllllllllllz

Chick dealt today at £14,000 and "2 Holiday Boxes" that gave her a 2/3 chance of a week all-inclusive in the Dominican Republic.

So ~£15,000

She got offered the bankers gamble with the £1 and £100,000 boxes in play

And turned it down

WTF

She obviously doesn't understand pot odds...

£100,000 in the box she would have swapped for hers. gg.

Pot odds won't change her life. The £15k obviously will. Perhaps she does understand pot odds but balanced it with life needs and doesn't have a blatant disregard for the value of what she had.

Asked my mother:

Would you take the gamble in this spot? "no, as I already have £14k and don't want to lose it"

Next question. If you had reached this point and not already dealt and got offered £14k would you deal? "no, as it's a bad offer"

GL explaining to the masses that these two scenarios are the exact same thing.

Agree tho depends how much money means to you- If the money was 14 million against 100 million same spot- do pot odds still comes into play James?

No. £14m / £100m = all the same to me.

Good point I guess but you'd have to be pretty damn poor to equate the two. £140,000 to £1 million I think I gamble, and £140k is sooooooooooo much money.

The way I see this is that if you run this scenario over and over again then it's an easy choice to make and pot odds comes into play. But this is a one time choice for this contestant and if she needs the money then she made the right choice.

If I was in the same position I wouldn't have dealt but if you asked me the same question 15 years ago when I was skint i would have took the deal and run as fast as I could.

Who is stupider, her for refusing such a +EV offer or you for expecting her a member of the general public to understand pot odds?

Its probably still her, I'm just saying.

Show is now 65 minutes long. Game seems exactly the same. It's just a lot more drawn out :/

Pot odds you should clearly gamble, but as stated it depends on what the money means to you.

£14k would not change my life but £100k would repay my mortgage!
