It's called the calm before the storm for a reason...The period of frankly comatose poker that has characterised the last 45 minutes or so gave no indication as to the dramatic pot that was about to play out.
It began with the two big staccks Ghassan Chehbi and Philip Toomer being joined by Sam Trickett as they went three way to a board of A-T-T.
20k from Ghehbi, 45k from Toomer, fold from Trickett...
The turn was a blankety three and Ghehbi reached out and led for a big stack of 1k chips - 25k, only for Toomer to move all-in!
Two big hands here it looked like and when Chehbi called with T-6 that was one of them. Toomer showed down T-5 and it looked like a split was on the cards, although both had chances to win.
"Keep it low!" yelled Chehbi, hoping his kicker would remain in play on a low river...
Be careful what you wish for. His wish was granted, a low card peeled off...the
!
Misery has a face...it was Chehbi's.

Toomer took down the HUGE 700k pot to propel him even further to the top of the leaderboard and we lose one of the erstwhile chip leaders in dramatic circumstances.
With one last check to just make sure he had been well and truly shafted Chehbi left the playing arena...SICK!!!
