To repeat a point made at the time, this was the only free weekend (ignoring August when people are away) in June-December without a festival event, an APAT etc etc

does that matter much? I've just had a quick look down the list of who's coming and I'm struggling to find a single circuit regular. there are quite a few who play occasional events but noone who's likely to be bothered at missing one. you could've held this on a gukpt weekend and still had pretty much the same group attending

yeah I thought that - APAT's the only one with any considerable crossover I would have thought.

You might be right.

At previous bashes we've had some circuit regulars, this one not. A few reasons for that I don't really want to go into.

In addition we'd hope to live update GUKPTs, indeed have done every one til Cardiff so holding a bash concurrently would a) mean updater(s) couldn't bash and b) major forum viewer eyeballs (!) wouldn't be viewing the updates

knowing now what we know yes

but at the time we had deals to send updaters to the gukpt
think the sponsors would of loved us doing an update while the members who they want to attract were all getting pissed with the non updaters

Tighty, I have some business in Leyburn, North Yorks on saturday, there is a vague chance I'll be finished in time for the comp. Can I just turn up?
