On the subject of rules though. Poker really would benefit from a standardised set of rules that everywhere uses.

There's simply too many rule sets out there that contradict each other in places.

Then there's casinos with house rules etc.

It's a big mess.

lol. don't give in to the haters cf

fyi most london cardrooms and several in europe do not declare a misdeal for a floored card, it is put faceup on the table and treated as an exposed card

gatso sticking up for a QM - the worlds gone mad!! Cheesy

my attacks on QMs have always been justified as they have failed to understand the workings of the english language either in their questions or in their answers (or often both). in this instance however cf understands perfectly and it is the objectors who fail to grasp either their mother tongue or laughably the rules of poker

there is no one set of rules in poker. It was reasonable to assume that the answer given, which applies in every casino I have ever been to including London casinos the Vic, Sportsman and Palm Beach, would be covered under Robert's rules

furthermore it could be argued that the rule itself is covered in Robert's rules, but there we are into semantics, where you gatso should feel right at home, alongside myself on the sofa eating pringles and practicing arson techniques.

furthermore the rule is specifcally mentioned in other sets of rules I have checked in the 90 minutes since failure

furthermore, I continue to simmer, not so gently, with indignation

tightend "simmering".........

I even consulted Simon Webbe from Blue, in Brussels. He concurred with me.

there is no one set of rules in poker. It was reasonable to assume that the answer given, which applies in every casino I have ever been to including London casinos the Vic, Sportsman and Palm Beach, would be covered under Robert's rules

if, as you say, there is no one set of rules then surely it would in fact be reasonable to assume that rules would differ would it not? therefore you should not be surprised to find a set of rules in which there is a ruling with which you are unfamiliar

now compare your answer to the set of rules referenced in the question, take a deep breath and try to justify your answer

hate the question, not the marking

Indeed. I think Robert was trying to refer to it in his rules though, but got lost in the oblique arcane chicanery of poker minutiae

Pressing on. These few questions are all quite straightforward. Very much the calm before the storm. Question 1 wasn't where the farce is.

Presume everyone is happy with that.

Moving on still, no need to spend too long on these few.

tighty, out of intrerest, have you ever got an actual ruling on a floored card in any of the venues you've played or has it been a case of everyone around the table just deciding/assuming it was a misdeal and throwing their cards into the middle. I've seen this a few times and it's no indication of the actual house rule
