Where are you staying?

South Point

No way - Really?

Cheers for everyones responses, much appreciated.  Still no 100% yet but a house with the lads sounds good atm!

Taxis are a bitch to sort out though imo.

I stayed there for 10 days 2 years ago.  Taxi's are easy to get, just cost me about $25 each way to the Rio or Venetian.

Gorgeous hotel though.

It might be possible to hire a car in Las Vegas.  £20 a day all inc. for a full size motor and if you get mangled and have to leave the car somewhere for a couple of days, no problem.  South Point + car is still cheaper than many centre strip offerings.

I have had South Point and Red Rock on the "possibles" list for a while now.  Red Rock generally price themselves out, but South Point have plenty of offers, the rooms look up to date and great value and the food options are pretty good.  I would have booked it previously but they had one 'sold out' date in the middle of my dates which messed it up.

For people looking for the cheapest possible flights, remember that BA are now flying direct to Vegas from Heathrow (yipeee).

I am 50/50 going, I just need to put in more than an hour a day online.

Would assume you just wander in - there's nothing much to see.

There were skeptics who didn't think this Penn and Teller Theater would fill. Those people were proven wrong yesterday when there was a line out the door all day. Then there were people who believed that once the first seven busted out and their fans went looking for a bar that the heads-up battle would be void of spectators. Wrong again. Tonight, this theater is once again filled to capacity with a line of people waiting to get in. As one person here noted, "These aren't people who are here to watch one player. These are fans of poker."

Thats from last year, the players get allocated seating for their supporters so it should be fine.

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

It seems that only the very major tourneys are published so far in advance, I've not been able to find any other schedules yet but I'm sure there will be a few. Last year in October both Caesar's and Binion's had tourneys going.

On a side-note, I was quite looking forward to playing the PLO and PLO/8 events in The Venetian Deepstack series which they have always had up until now, but they appear to have been scrubbed Huh?
