During the last year we heard mention of Heads Up Comps between Nottingham, Luton and Blackpool. It died a death and nothing was ever heard of them again. Perhaps it was hardly exhibition stuff and the teams were staffed by second rate Heads Up players, who knows.

Well good news! A new grouping of five stars has appeared on the scene, The Heads Up All Stars. Formed especially for the Brum Bash.

These highly trained players form an awesome team and ready to meet any other team in a Comp during that weekend. Yes, any team! It could be from the above mentioned villages or  indeed a team of girlies or Casino staff, there will be space and time to play in the hotels no doubt. It may be that a County team can be formed from the outlaying parts of England, i.e. scotland or wales.

Is there any team willing to risk humiliation and a smidgen of their bank roll? Probably not but the chance is there for the taking.

Once teams have been chosen there is nothing to stop other challenges, e.g. the scotch people against welch ones. This is added in case you felt the might of the All Stars is too great to overcome.

Mr Tank - check the "acceptances" list - there are a whole load of Scottish blondes coming down. Between them, there must almost be the sum total of one English brain.

A fair bunch of us coming fae Scotland totaling around 10, fine and good, Scottish brains.

MikkyT coming down aswell, so there's your, not quite one, English brain.

Just putting the shout out asking which ones fancy the heads up comp. If more than 5 we might need to arrange some qualifying heats so as to earn the right to represent our fine country.

started reading the thread and thought "definitely outting a team together.
got to page 2 £50 is too much.
can it be between a minimum and maximum with a flat £25 per team rake for charity?
I would certainly like to put a team together for £20+£5

Point taken Adam, we will take a look at this. We may even be introduce a lower buy-in Heads-Up Comp, or satellites, or some means to ensure everyone who wants to play, can play.

Will you be trying for the Nottingham team then Adam, do I sense improvement, perhaps you could attract sponsorship?

This team has been put together at great expense. Transfer fees, training camps, international air travel, steak dinners and Guinness do not come cheap. However if you get yourself into the Nottingham team, or whichever, discuss it with them and PM me that way we save time and energy, oh and no polls.

I think you missed the concept of the joint bankroll and JD's post. Yes it would cost, say, £50 to buy in perhaps but only if all 5 of you lost would it cost you that much. But as I said get in a team and elect a captain to contact me. Money will not stand in the way of us all having a good time.

Without wanting to sounding patronising there are a group of people who, throughout the year, give us all great service and perhaps are rewarded less than they should. If the casino staff can get a team together and one of them contact me we can chat about setting up a game.
