And now the end is near, two tournaments left to try and turn a small negative into a positive.
Lost half my chips during level one of the deepstack yesterday, so had to sit there in a Tighty-like pose and play the double-up game. It nearly worked too, 99 good against AQ but then JJ no good against AQ. Perhaps there's something to be said after all for this playing two hands an hour lark. Then again, perhaps it would drive me nuts.
I seem to be getting more and more aggressive with age. Trying to imagine what I'll be like when I reach Tikay's age. All in every hand I guess.
Last night's $120 was tremendous fun as usual. Myself, Tony Chapman and Tony's mate Nigel were among the chip leaders with three tables left but then the play ran out. Tony disappeared, then I went in 12th after shoving with 2 8 and getting it cracked by 10 10. FFS. Nigel was chip leader when they chopped it, though, so picked up $2,500. Good for him.

Here you go holdy, a line break just for you.

Decided I will be coming back tomorrow as planned. Could quite happily stay another week at the moment but don't want to stick around to the point where I hit the wall again like last summer. That won't help with a view to doing the 24 days in June.
No, it's time to get back and start this salicylate-free diet crap. Also time to get back into a gym routine. Haven't been once this entire trip and only once in the week leading up to it.
Worked out I've spent around $200 on internet connections in the business centre the past week and a bit, so laptop will have to be purchased before the summer.

That's it, done for the trip. Pete Gardiner arrived last night for an 18-nighter. Shame he didn't arrive a few days earlier, good lad is Pete.
Some conclusions...
Fillet Mignon at the Cafe Lux x2 should have been x3 or x4. Steak perfection imo.
The standard of play was much higher this week than last. Whether I just drew tougher tables in general later or got some incredibly weak ones in the early days is hard to know.
There is no middle ground with US players, they're either very good or downright poor imo. This is something I've always felt. I mean there's no in-between. The average US tournament player is like a cross between Rochelle B and John Ruppin.
The strip is as quiet as I have ever known it. This is peak season but there's hardly anyone here. Field sizes for the deep stacks were around half what they were this time last year. Recession ftw.
Already thinking ahead to June. Reckon I'll split the stay up between three hotels, eight days each in the Rio, Venetian and AN Other. Drinking will be banned for at least the first fortnight. Plenty of sleep early likely to be the key. Might even bring a book to read.
Played with a bracelet winner at the final table of a $120er the other night (won the seniors event in 2007 but looks younger than me ffs). He let me have a go on his bracelet and now I want one more than ever.
Not sure about the direct flight. Guess it probably suits most but I don't much like arriving here at 2.30pm or getting back at 10am. Would rather arrive at 7pm and get back at 10pm.
Only saw one film the whole trip but it was a cracker, Zach And Miri Make A Porno. Seth Rogen as funny in the opening half hour of that as anyone I can ever remember. First half of the flick, 10 Chompy stars out of 10, second half 5 out of 10.
Different feel to this trip without a bunch of Lutoners nearby. Either way, a lot of the same old faces reappear for these festivals. Great festival, no doubt about that.

The dry run continues... dealers conspired lat night ..walked into the flopped nuts 3 times..each time with a hand..LoL even told dick his hand as i paid him off..flopped queens full..

Then got killed on the cash.. cant play with these people.. u mix it up they win with some random shite u can never put them on .. u try 2 push them off they wont give up ace high until they hit..u play tight wait for the hand and its killed by some mug calling OP with 8 4 off...Jeez...

I mean one guy took 4 minutes to fold 4th pair to me on a straight, flushing and paired board... FFS..He nearly feinted when he saw me lay 2 pair to monster 2 way heat...

I need to find a happy place  !!

However table banter was superb with The lovely Edna and Miss Dell..great Craic.. and Pelham boy chuckliong in the corner perhaps i indulged a little too much and should have paid more attention to the game.. However highlight of the night was putting lovely Tony De Luca on tilt..I love Tony but had him steaming..

I called his raise in position with KQ flop is raggy 9 high and he checks to me..which is odd as Tony loves to follow through and plays his big hands fast.. i take the free card and the board pairs and he bets out.. its weak to me screams AQ miss or 4 4.. i flat call with the intention of taking it on the river.. i spike a king and he checks.. I value bet and he calls with QQ.. LOL

The steam erupts from his ears as he enquires how i could call the turn... I explain the turn float and my intention to take it away on the river and he cant get his head round it.. he thinks I'm fishing for a card but doesn't realise that his just unlucky as he gets the same bet if he checks to me whatever the river is .. All he did was betray he had absolutely no idea where he was in the hand blindly calling the river with 2nd pair and a paired board... Tracy seemed not to know what a float was which is weird as I thought u were up on Kidz speak

Anyhow sod all this level 4 ( Bloody Alex martin) thinking I'm going back to playing tight.. it s the only way at Luton.. the fields are tough cos of a mixture of good regulars and complete suck out idiots to avoid... oh and some fool called an MDD raise with K3 o/s and won.. MDD was last seen sharpening something pointy...

I know lots of people who love calling MDD's raises with filth. Not because they think they are ahead. Not because it is good poker play. No just because his reaction is goooooddd if you managed to crack his pucka hand

Sooooooo wanted to play Sunday but unfortunately busy. Don't play Fridays. Saturday is Valentines so I would normally cook a meal at home for Mrs Snat and I. Oh well, next week it is then. Gl to the Luton regulars over the weekend.

Smooth flatting to float the river? No, no, no, this is a thread for league discussion only, not somewhere for mediocre players to air jargon.
Minus points in the offing as jetlag begins to kick in...
