I'm not too concerned about the way I'm eating, it s very similar to Matt

Eg, scrambbled eggs for brekkie

Soreen, 2 small slices for lunch,

Meat ( usually chicken) with broccoli or spinach

I was 17st last September, which was mostly due to a redic busy lifestyle and not giving any consideration to what I was eating.

I won't hold 14st, I plan to add muscle once I have won the bet, so once I have done that I'll probs settle just under 15st by Xmas.

I'm just keen to know if I need to how do you lose 4 lbs in a week when you are already in a big weight loss stretch?

If you take up something like running or rowing you should burn through some extra weight.

Doing exercise does far more than burn calories at the time you're exercising .

Your metabolism speeds up immensely. Your body has to repair damaged muscle, and more of it over time. Your body produces more blood, this takes energy (either stored or digested), etc.

That aside, if you want a car to use up its petrol more quickly, you can either put less fuel in the tank or you can drive it harder and further. Alternatively, you can do both.

I'm not really exercising much. Low carb doesn't give you much to go on, so I just walk daily. I play softball on Tuesdays.

I am doing press ups, squats, calf raises and dips daily.

I take green tea, garlic and ALA daily 6 out of 7 days

My calorie intake is really low so eating less not much of an option.

No offence Guy but this is an absolute bollocks excuse.

Get to the gym and get training. You'll piss your prop if you do.

Also you'll be able to eat more and still lose weight.

Take a look back at what I was eating when I lost getting on for a stone in 5 weeks.

It was hardly lacking in calories and yet combined with training (which wasn't even cardio) I lost loads. It was also low carb and I managed to survive despite training and walking every day.

As Dan says if you train your body will use up calories far more than you realise. Even while your asleep your body works to repair muscles. It can't do this without energy and energy used = calories burned.

Stop making excuses and get to the gym!!

If all you want to do is cheat to win your prop then I'm pretty sure you could do 6lb in your last 2 days easily.

Steam rooms, saunas, enemas and simply not eating a fucking thing will all work wonders.

Perhaps you could try some amateur bulimia and chuck up everything you eat for your last 2 days.

I'm sure you'd feel happier winning your prop despite not having to change your normal routine though.

If I ever did a weight loss prop I think I'd have to insist on 2 or 3 weigh ins to make sure the loss was sustainable.

I'd want them spread over 3 weeks with the 2nd and 3rd both being on random days of my choosing. It'd definitely cut out the insane rapid loss last couple of days.

Thoughts on exercise very much appreciated

AS for the 2nd lot of comments a tad harsh. I will have lost 3 stone - i dont think "cheating off" teh last few pounds to win a prop is going to cause me much regret! If the bet was timeless, I would get there no problem, but it isnt. Im just concerned that my weight loss has tapered slightly and it could get really close!

On the grounds that colonics and enemas are to be swerved at all costs, I might throw in some jogging!

TYTY for input.

Ill be back once ive won my bet as muscle gain is the next step!

I'm sure it won't cause you regret but wouldn't you be happier knowing that you were at a genuine sustainable 14st?

Why don't you start your muscle gain thing now?

You're probably worried about putting on weight because muscle weighs more than fat but trust me it doesn't happen that quickly.

If you get to the gym now and just do a few light weights to get you going it'll make things much easier when you're ready to start properly.

When you start on your weights in your first week or two you'll be aching like hell. Makes sense to get that out of the way as soon as possible.

If you're planning on joining a gym at some point just do it now.

Have half an hour of cardio type stuff then an hour full circuit training every body part but lightly.

You'll burn loads of calories and also prep your body for more intense training in a few weeks time.

Haha!

I went for a run. And to quote Matt, I can't run!

I could tell that I had lost the weight, it was initially a little easier, and my legs are stronger due to the squats, but it was fooking tough! My lungs are burning, my head is spinning and my legs are a little jelly.

Not sure how long I went, twice around my big block, and it was more intervals of run jog walk but ug! I hurt!

Good stuff Guy!!

It'll get easier mate there's no doubt about that.

I'm already finding the treadmill work I'm doing a little easier after just a few days.

Keep it up and you'll hit 14st easily.

Good going mate. Just remember, the real pain won't come until tomorrow or the day after Smiley

Do plenty of stretching, it helps.

I stretch quite a bit anyway as my muscles are terrible, I literally have to stretch before doing anything minor or I hurt for days - always been that way - even when I trained properly

I feel better now - i posted as soon as I got back, because all I thought the whole way you was "fk you all, fk you all, fk you all", it was mantra-esque

I will keep it up, but I will probably only run every other day as my recovery period tends to be long (I assume this is sensible?) I will walk everyday I dont run thou, just to stretch out

Yes, don't over excercise mate. That's how injuries happen
