This early in a comp and oop i normally play AK quite passively,i dont really like 3bet oop vs unknown with these stack sizes.

i'd 3bet as a default

I know I started a massive thread on this a while ago.
I still dont understand why we would flat though, just seems to be asking for trouble to me, and its a good time to get a few more chips in while 9/10 out of 10 were miles ahead.

If Jones is saying flat call he's probably right (and he's a really nice guy, lovely in fact) but I still prefer 3-betting here (button vs SB that is, if he raises from early I'm happy to flat). If he shoves I'm happy to snap his dick off with AK here but I don't expect him to flat very often.

I know we lose value when he folds worse hands but we allow him to play kinda perfectly against us by flatting OOP too.

3bet/calling isnt bad here tbh.  How many bb's effective do you think you would just peel though?

I dont think we induce a wide enough range to ship 40+ bigs pre antes.

Cover your screen and pretend you've got 6 2 off.

3 bet to 1050.

If oppo folds applaud yourself for your brilliant bluff steal.

If he shoves uncover your screen and be delighted when you realise that you actually had AK.

I'm still comfortable playing poker post flop although oop,i think most of his opening range is also just going to call a 3b when he has pos on us and with these stack sizes, I don't really mind a 3b just prefer to flat with both having 40bbs+.

If we 3bet and he calls what's our play if the flop bricks:cbet, check/fold,check/shove  ??
