Nice refreshing change to have a decent debate that doesn't decened into slagging each other off on the forum. Just goes to shows what a better class of debater us dog men are, well done chaps.

Great addition to the thread Matty, be great if u could join us on a Romford Friday night, Sky night or any of the ante post races.

What do u think for the Golden Jacket?

Honestly, as I said a minute ago, I am quite out of touch on the OR scene. I will be having a little look obviously and when I do i'll see if I am on the same wave length of others!

I actually only really joined this forum for the sports area, as I don't play poker, with greyhounds being my first love, and NFL quickly becoming my 2nd.

Great to here it's Romford, really really love the racing there on a Friday. As u can probably tell I'm very much more about trying to get the early price if I know it's too big verses reading the form but Scotty2hatty more than makes up for that in his well researched long shot value selections that come in over 90% of the time. Can see u being a great addition to the team even if u only contribute occasionally, hopefully we can make blondes that little bit richer this year. Look forward to your Derby picks. So far I'm back on Droopys Ward (66/1) and Lenson Sanchez (50/1) and a couple of darts at big prices on bf for Quietly and King Dec (scotty's selection). Goodluck.

Thanks, won't be following Droopys Ward this year as I was on at 150s last year and heartbroken !!

As for backing/laying. I'll generally only back, I only get laid in one/two places now (B365, Bfred(restricted slightly) so I have to use the exchanges. Bet365 is crucial for early prices though so i'm glad I still have that account.

I don't really lay like I read you do sometimes. I like to follow my gut/opinion but laying a dog that is 5.0 on Betfair in a 100% book because I think it is a few points short is something I wouldn't really do. I don't mind laying a short priced dog that I really think is over-rated or always underpriced. (Not Evanta Fantasy though Hobbsy, eh?).

I'm generally a punter who likes to find a bit of value as opposed to putting up even money shots etc.

I am pretty much exclusively a layer day to day on betfair.  I do all 5 nights on RPGTV and most of the bigger BAGS tracks during the day (never do evening bags apart from Notts opens and Sheff opens on monday/tues night).  Romf/cray/sheff/hove/monmore/notts my preferred tracks on the bags in the day as liquidity is good on betfair compared to other tracks.  I have recently thinned out a few tracks after the reshuffle of schedules after xmas.  I dropped Swindon from my week to week stuff as they moved their meetings to mornings from afternoons and they now fit in with Kinsley and HG which i both hate.  Other tracks i don't get involved with if i can help it are PBarr/Sittingbourne/Poole/Yarmouth/Posh as the liquidity is very poor on betfair and you only ever lay triers in my experience.

It's interesting how different everyone attacks the game from different angles.  I think nothing of laying a 4/1 shot on betfair in a 100% book.  Probably lay more dogs like that then any other price range.  Very rarely lay bigger than 8/1.

Yeah but you lay day to day. I don't have the time or effort to do that therefore if I decide to lay a 4/1 shot on a Friday night, if I get it wrong, it will be alot longer for me to get it back by laying 4 other losing 4/1 shots lol! Just more of a volume/variance thing for me. If I had the time/money/effort to do it I certainly would.

Yes totally understand.  Laying 1 4/1 shot isn't a problem for me it's when i lay 4 in a row when it hurts!

decent inside henlow tonight on the rpgtv show.  Rab is totally destroying the spineless Meek, Kelly and JK in the studio over the politics of dog racing.  Comical how these yes men just can't get off the fence and admit Rab is right.  Worth checking in for the last hour if you haven't already as Rab looks ready to explode.

snowing at nottingham bags - looks big outside - first 5 races 4 t6 winners and 1 t5 winner.

Similar tale at  yarmouth as well.

Not much to bet on tonight with transfer window on so if you having a degen bet (there isn't much else to bet on) bear the above in mind.

Not one t1 winner all night at Notts or Yarm.  Only one t1 placed at Yarmouth as well.

Shocking Sky sports card tomorrow night from Newcastle.  Most of the races are no more than A1's at the track.  Don't think i have seen a sky card this bad for years quality wise.  Standard RPGTV Thurs night hove/Friday night Romford cards are better than this.
